Wednesday Other Stuff (6-27-12) Stuck
Posted on June 27, 2012 at 10:04 AM.

If any of these links interest you, talk about them! (If you find any, send me a PM. I'll post them in the next update and mention you.)Prayers to those in Colorado dealing with that mess. I can't even begin to think what would be going through my head, if I saw that in my backyard. Hopefully the firefighters can get it under control soon.

Walking for 30 minutes a day with my mom seems to really do her a lot of good. While she does get tired, at the end of the session, I can tell she is geting stronger. Hopefully with this exercise and better eating habits, she can avoid some of the medicines she hates taking. Been reading a lot about diabetes, glad I don't eat a lot of garbage anymore, but it doesn't mean it can't happen to me.

QOTD: Read any good books lately?

Happy Birthday to the following OS'ers!

QoTD: Last book I read was "Out of My League" by Dirk Hayhurst. It's about a guy making his debut in the major leagues. He's a weird guy, but the book was pretty interesting. Right now (when I get time) I'm reading "Summer of Shadows" by Jonathan Knight. It's about the 1954 Indians and the Sam Sheppard murder trial (the one The Fugitive is based on). Haven't gotten too far yet.

QOTD: I just finshed R.A. Dickey's book "Wherever I Wind Up: My Quest for Truth, Authenticity and the Perfect Knuckleball" It's a great book and recommend it.

QOTD:

Two book recommendations: 1) "The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains." If you use a computer (read: if you breathe) you need to read this book.

2) "The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business." This is an intriguing look at how habits affect our personal & business relationships. It also talks about how companies like Target & Amazon are using the internet & computer algorithms to track & predict our purchasing habits.
