Well, you've made more of a jump than most people are willing to. I've heard good things about Windows 7 but it's also still in development, so it's bound to have bugs and glitches. Take some good time with both OSes.

Hey bjf... it's been a while since we've talked last. Any new developments on your trial of Linux?

Bah, my long reply decided to disappear. Anyway, there are a lot of alternatives to proprietary software. You can always try to virtualize an XP/Vista computer, or use Wine. Gaming isn't great, but it's growing. Linux got a OOTP version recently. KDE or Gnome, they're both good, pick your preference. Look at them both. Ubuntu = Gnome, Kubuntu = KDE. If you have more questions, let me know.
