New Daily Show/Colbert Report thread
I think there is a bad link in the original thread. My browser keeps crashing when I try to open it.
So, to kick off the new thread, here is 10+ minutes of awesomeness from last night's episode.

"Hey, I got an idea. Why don't you explain it like you're news shows and your audience had not suffered a traumatic brain injury."

|
Stewart's been crushing the Dems lately...funny stuff.
|
Lewis Black with one of his best "Back in Black" segments. Hilarious.
|
I'm not a huge Lewis Black fan but I liked that a lot ("Nazi Tourettes" was gold)

what you said. |
With the show still on break, an old favorite of mine from the duo of John Hodgman and Jonathan Coulton.

Anyone see the segment with Colbert and the Israeli ambassador- I dunno, Tuesday or Wednesday this week? Colbert did a formidable opponent segment about the Israel blockade issue and then brought the ambassador on to give their side of the argument. It was actually quite good with some hard questions from Colbert and some tough but good answers from the ambassador. It was a great back and forth hitting most of the high points of the clash.
Then, well, Colbert just completely ambushed him with a question about Palestine and, frankly, well, it was a really, really cheap shot. I don't think he'll ever be back. SI |
For those who say Stewart doesn't lay into Obama and Democrats enough.
|
You mean Obama is still practicing the same policies as the Bush administration and even expanding upon them? Shocked I tell you! Shocked!
|
I have to admit chuckling the other night when I heard Colbert say something along the lines of, "BP has screwed more people than Tiger Woods."
|
|
I'm not a big Steve Carell fan, but this was pure awesome

Another great intro:
|
Excellent, excellent stuff, particularly the stupid/evil part at the end SI |
Is that true? If so, that is some of the funniest shit I've heard in awhile.

News Corp major shareholder: 'James Murdoch should succeed Rupert' | Media | guardian.co.uk According to that article from Jan. 22 earlier this year, Alwaleed bin Talal holds a 7% stake in News Corp, says that he is the largest shareholder outside of the "Murdoch clan" and states he is the chairman of Kingdom Holdings. So, yeah. Looks true. |

Rick Sanchez was fired by CNN today, he will be missed. :(

"This is drier than Harriet Tubman's vagina."

They knock another one out of the park last night.
|
I don't think "knock out of the park" means what you think it does...

Yes, yes it does. Glenn Beck has no place at the table of rational discourse. As this deconstruction of his line of thinking demonstrates. It is just sad that it takes a show that is based on satire to expose it. |

O'Reilly is closer to Biblical truth than what the video shows, but I love the money quote at the end. |
|
One of my favorites in a while. It had a bit more of an edge than normal

"250K is not rich, for a family of four sending kids to college, actually, it's close to poverty."
Thanks for sharing. That was good shit. |
I wish I had enough tech savvy to set that video up to play everytime certain friends and relatives boot up their computers.

Well, it's a great example of what the Daily Show does best: putting clips from the same moron side-by-side, showing how ridiculously inconsistent they really are. I mean, literally identical points just for two different groups of people
Bankers -not ok to break contracts -need to pay top dollar to keep best talent -$250K is not rich -taxpayer money ok to blow on them Teachers in a Union -ok to break contract -don't need to pay top dollar to keep best talent -$50K is rich -taxpayer money not ok to use SI |

Bankers -Can't cut out their bonuses, most of them have already spent that money Teachers -Should have been more responsible and known their wages would be cut I also love the clip before that one
All of us have to sacrifice; teachers, teachers assistants, student teachers, retired teachers, school janitors. Everybody has to sacrifice. |

It's sort of bizarre. Almost as if a generation of people who don't realize that all the stuff they say is being recorded and archived somewhere. That someone has the editing capabilities to put these clips together. Or maybe people just don't give a shit because they treat all of this as a sport unfortunately. |
"This isn't even fun anymore. I barely even get angry about this, I just feel sorry for you guys now. It took longer to play that clip than it did to find it. We've actually started burying these tapes around the office just to make it sporting." |
wow
