Actually, i didnt think the ending was exactly formulatic. I was stunned to find i was actually enjoying the movie, but the ending was nonsensical from the point of the established characters and their motivations. I hated the ending, because i felt it was totally disloyal to the reality the movie had constructed.

Streep was fantastic in this, and i was really surprised when i had to concede the Oscar nomination was probably justified.
