Driving out of Washington DC a couple weeks ago, I noticed something - took a cameraphone pic but it wasnt very clear. Two stations, right across the street from one another... we've all seen it, how they have differing prices maybe due to accessibility, brand recognition, etc. I'm not sure what I would set as the maximum price difference there... but...

50 cents difference? Really?

Giving it a little thought, I think there are sociological reasons at work at that location - but the main thing is probably that it was a semi-divided highway where "turning around and getting back" would be pretty impractical...so the eastbound side I was on (expensive) was physically close to the westbound side, but not really all that close for easy selection by the average driver. Still... fifty cents? Seriously?
