I get that it'll water down the overall field, but I like it if they stick to 8 round robin groups with 5 teams each & 16 teams advancing to the knockout stages. An extra group stage game each & presumably slightly harder for fluke teams to advance thru.

Infantino was talking about 3 team groups and an extra round, which would be a farce, especially with the additional nations, some of whom won't be very good.
