Well, that was mostly due to me, since my computer at that time was less than reliable, and the server was on my computer that ran Pitboss.
With this, that's not an issue. It's much like PBeM, only with a consistant server presence by the Giant Multiplayer Robot. You even get email notifications by GMR when it's your turn.
