The spotlight today is on
John Bennett of the
Cleveland Cyclones. He was named the top pitcher in the Continental League and will be honored with the 2184 Gabriel Prado Award.
Bennett compiled an impressive 19-7 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 237 innings of work and 33 starts, the Cyclones star struck out 124, while giving up 198 hits and 46 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .227 average.

Ánibal Caro, this year's Republic League Gabriel Prado Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.
Caro compiled a 22-4 record in 32 starts, tallied 183 strikeouts in 231.1 innings and recorded a 2.61 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .232 batting average against him.
