Knight Acclaimed Top Pitcher in August

Derril Knight hoisted up the Continental League Pitcher of the Month trophy for August, rumors have already begun to swirl about whether he will leave
Havana once his contract is up at the end of the season.
Knight put pressure on the Banana Sluggers to keep him around by posting a 4-0 record and an ERA of 2.83 over 35 innings last month. He also rolled up 23 strikeouts, increasing his value both to
Havana and to every other team in the league.

Knight has registered a 15-7 record and a 3.83 ERA.

Freddy Castillo stays in
Ann Arbor beyond this season remains to be seen, but while he's here he's making the most of it. In August the 27-year-old certainly pulled out all the stops by winning the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.
He put up some fancy numbers with a 4-0 record and and an ERA of 1.62. In 39 innings he struck out 33, surrendered 35 hits, 4 walks and proved to be a solid performer in 6 starts last month.
This year
Castillo has a 14-4 record with a 2.81 ERA.
