First time for everything I guess ... in 30+ years of concerts, big & small, never before have I seen a crowd that actually detracted from a show by basically doing ... nothing.
In my life I've never seen more people (90% of 200-300) utterly disinterested in their surroundings.
There'd have been more interested atheists at the Southern Gospel Quartet Convention.
It was frustrating, bewildering, and infuriating all at once.
I still can't figure out how many were family members (this was a "local" date for a national touring band) and how many were casual locals in a pretentious little community that just happened to wander in (and paid $20 for the wandering).
How two good bands could do perfectly fine performances & have things turn out so utterly pissy may be a mystery to me indefinitely.
