Detroit at San Francisco

Starting Pitchers

Max Scherzer (DET) vs. Matt Cain (SF)

Game Recap

San Francisco- 3, Detroit- 1 -- Another good pitching duel, although it didn't come without some drama. Both starting pitchers went 6 innings, but they were stressful innings, as both pitchers gave up a lot of baserunners, but both teams left a lot of guys on base. After an Andy Dirks RBI single to start the scoring for Detroit in the 2nd inning, San Francisco got 2 in the 4th and added an insurance run in the 7th. Pablo Sandoval, Mike Fontenot, and Buster Posey each had RBIs for the Giants. Ramon Ramirez pitched the last 2 innings for San Francisco, earning the 2 inning save, and Detroit's Casper Wells was injured in the top of the 9th, he'll miss Detroit's next game.
