HTML with box scores and game logs up to May 13, 1964 are being uploaded now. They'll be all current when it's done.

DarkCloud, I'm not seeing most of my email messages, so I can't tell what happened with contracts very easily.

If you go to Manager --> News, you should see tons of things there. I just went to look and it shows 74 different messages there dating back to the beginning of the year.

You can also view transaction moves by going to FOOL --> Transactions --> Transactions News tab and then click "major transactions log" or "complete transactions log" to see what deals went down.

You see them that way because you ran the sim I believe. When I go to the news stories, it is the same as the email messages. You have entries for them, but they are all blank. I can only see the transactions through the complete transaction log, but that doesn't really give the same information, only tells me where people signed. If that makes sense.

So I still have like 64 messages but most of them are blank.

It does make sense. I'm going to re-run the league file and send another one up.

I could actually see most of mine, but the 'newest' 7 or so were blank.

Yeah, apparently I had it set to do just the last seven days or something strange. I just set it to upload ALL of them. Box scores, game logs and everything. The file is 34 MB and it's about halfway done, but at least this way, you have it all. Because I don't know since I have the main file, so I'm glad you told me...I want you to have all of the information at your fingertips.

My laptop's ac adaptor is dead. I'm going to try to get another one tonight, but if not then I'm going to try to download OOTP and install on the desktop at home. That unit has had elicense problems in the past though. Just a heads up in case my exports aren't in.

Every one of my player pages shows the same picture for the player: some fuzzy picture of a guy in a blue uniform with a moustache and beard. Any idea what I need to do to kick in the FaceGen stuff?

Sorry. I'd taken to doing it manually, because the game was being so bad about doing it automatically. I'll try it now.

No worries. I've tried to run a league before. Keep up the good work.

Yes, but I think that when I switched the new files from the old server to the new one, that you all might not have had the files for some reason. I dunno what might've happened. But that's all I can think of.

I have our league set to only generate pictures from major league players, so if a kid is in the minors, you won't see his picture until he makes the majors for the first time. Just cuts down on file size.

Did I download too soon? I dl'ed the file after you posted in the 1966 season thread about its size (and being available). But what my game has now doesn't let me pick any team except yours. No other managers are listed, and if you click on one of the (no names) it prompts you for a password.

My team's uniforms and logos look different. Is that related to the hiccup.

Possibly, though I don't know how. Suffice to say, that'd be an easier fix than a possible league killing bug.

Nah. I hadn't won a title yet. So the league hasn't even started yet from my perspective.

I had to release a new file this morning, because there was a problem with the Valdosta-Hartford trade processing. But apparently, it doesn't affect anyone but Valdosta, so you shouldn't have to redo any of your changes if you already exported or have last night's file.

If I already made a bunch of permanent changes I take it I will have to make them again, is this correct?

I just exported what was out there and let me grab your file -- and the others out there successfully. That's quite a breakthrough to note. So you should be good to go.

Yes, I agree with this sentiment. I appreciate the effort to make things better for the league, and I know there will be occasions when changes simply have to be made (the no GMs thing last night, the Hartford-Valdosta deal this morning), but I really think we're taking a big risk when we start messing with the file in between deadline files. The possibility of an export going wrong is too high, and in this league, one bad export can require many seasons to fix, with the pace at which we run this.

If I might make a recommendation, it would be to make a list of changes that are desired to be made that are not absolutely necessary and then post them here some time before the sim (if schedule allows). But don't make those changes until after the deadline and after all files have been imported. For instance, what if someone submitted to sign one of those FA's? Cringer just yesterday was talking about needing a backup 1B. What if he decided to go sign one, and left a spot open for him, knowing that a player under major league contract is generally just placed on the big league squad. This is just a hypothetical, but you get what I am saying.

I just think we should make an effort at cutting down changes in file between deadlines unless it is absolutely necessary, and definitely make "cosmetic" changes at the deadline only (and only after files are exported). It could save us tons of potential headaches.

Just my opinion.

I don't want this to sound like work, but why not implement some kind of change control? Where you have your sim days and then one night of the week (right after the championship or something) is designated as changes time for you.. You make the changes for the next year, and re-push the file out for everyone..

If everything looks good and no one complains you go forward the next day where you are.. if there are any problems and you need to back out, nothing is lost as far as free agency or regular season?

Just trying to find a happy medium as one missed sim is huge in this league (as one missed sim = 1/2 of a year)

OOTP has been causing me problems with updating HTML of late. I'm going to try it again now and see if we can get anywhere.

Nevermind. Crashed again. I'll log it over in OOTP land.

I can crash my game at will, it seems. Load game, log in as me, click top prospects for my team, click Brad Morrison, crash. I've been messing with it and it isn't just his link that does it. Just found out that Artie Brooks will also crash my game at will.
