I hate "office politics" but a warning would have been more appropriate and then if he continued, the boxing would have made more sense. He may have been warned via PM (I don't know), but, it did seem the snake bit without much provication. Or maybe I just have thicker skin?

Getting back to the intent of the thread...

Looks like CNN.com is saying that the box that was attached to the balloon fell off at some point and now they are looking for the box.

It is interesting. The only time I see folks get boxed or banned, wade is involved.

It is weird because the early photos of it didn't show this box. It can't be far. Horrible news if it did fall off.

Nope. It was a case of it being said in a thread where I was reading. I've said it repeatedly: I don't read every thread around here--not even close in OT. If someone reacts like that in other threads, just hit the little exclamation point icon thingy. I look at every post report. There will *always* be significant inconsistencies in modding a board of this size and activity level unless there's a full-time paid mod who can read every single thread.

Sounds exactly like what I said before...we're self-policed. No one immediately reported the post, definitely not before Lathum apologized for his mistake. We're all big boys, I don't know why it has to extend beyond "I messed up and overreacted, my bad."

I just find it amazing that a self-proclaimed rare reader of a forum he hates feels like he needs to step in and make someone pay for their mistake when the offender already owned up to it. I completely understand the need for a quick trigger when it comes to objectionable content, as we don't want to put our members at risk when it comes to browsing at work. But for someone flying off the handle and saying something mean before ultimately apologizing? I just don't get it.

Respectfully of course, coming from an OG forum member who has never given you or anyone else an ounce of trouble.
