Good call.

Lions needed a good beatdown to keep them level headed.

INT and a TD, just like that for the 49ers.

Just got back from the Bucs game...it's getting ugly now...I have no idea what our overall strategy is right now on offense or defense. So much promise just going down the drain right now. Grrrr....

How boneheaded was that? It didn't end up mattering but it was obvious that he was lined up offside. When you are a receiver looking at the ball and you see that it is on the yard line (was it the 30?) and your foot is on the other side of that line it should be pretty obvious that you are lined up offside.

Maybe he thought that he was DeMarcus Ware and the refs would allow it.

if Patrick Willis is not the best LB in football ( caught a RB behind the line and chased him down, chased down the QB), he's one of the top 5.

I gotta think that challenge is as much about giving the defense an extended break, as it was about legitimately questioning the play. Of course the subtlety is lost on the two douchey announcers.

It's one thing to be play dirty and have swagger when you are winning. It's another to do it when you are down 37-6.

Wonder if the Bears locker room will be talking about how bad Stafford sucks after the game?

37-6 after a bye week. Maybe Schwartz can spend less time telling people how smart he is compared to his opponent and go out and actually prove it. With two against the Packers and one against the Saints, it's going to be tough for them to get into the playoffs.

This is what I said but someone above said the Lions just locked up a playoff spot after losing 37-13. I just don't see it. It's going to be tough to win any of those games vs the Pack and Saints. Two of them are on the road. Dallas has a much easier schedule although the Lions do have the tiebreaker vs them. Atlanta will also be a factor and they have the tiebreaker vs Lions.

I thought it was nice to see the Lions getting decent. As a bears fan I like when the games actually mean something.

I can't respect this Lions team after the way they played today. Dirty football with the intent to do harm isn't something I enjoy watching. The fact that they whine about the officials targeting them makes it worse.

He's like that. Make the other team execute a snap type thinking.

Well...I wasn't expecting to beat the 49ers but am disappointed we didn't. Eli played well for the most part but, well he's inclined to throw a bad one here & there. Defense did pretty well overall & I have to say I'm impressed they've been as solid as they have given the injuries to the secondary. They might be downright nasty with TT, Amukamura, & Tubbs.

haha I was just picking on the "season over" declaration, it reminded me of many Packers "game over" posts in the first quarter awhile back.

To be serious though, I have zero faith in Dallas or Atlanta's abilities to be so consistently good that Detroit should no longer be considered a likely playoff team, especially given that Detroit holds the head to head tiebreaker over Dallas. Detroit could easily lose to green bay twice and New Orleans but win the rest of their games. Beating Green Bay at home or New Orleans on the road isn't out of the question, so there's a couple paths to 10-6 and I think if they get to 10-6 they get in.

Chicago certainly should be the favorite for the first wild card spot, but at this point I would say Detroit, Atlanta, Dallas in that order would be my next 3 in order of likelyhood. Not enough that I'd put money on it, but if we're making predictions today I'm predicting Chicago and Detroit.

It says I was a bit hasty in picking up Tebow for my fantasy team (at least he's a backup to Romo)

55 dropbacks for the Ravens, 10 rush attempts. Don't think I have seen consistently more retarded offensive playcalling in my life. Its so dumb it makes me mad, and I don't even like the Ravens.

You have a defense like that and all you want to do is seemingly keep them on the field for 35-40 minutes a game while the other team just sits back and waits for you to pass again and again..

I fear McCourty is done for the year with a potentially busted shoulder though (just a worst-case scenario guess).

Ugh. WTF...when did he step out of bounds? Aaaah...there we go...yeah.

Still - hell of a play by Brady.

Pats should be able to elect to take the penalty though, right?

Pats get a few lucky bounces - crazy punt fumble play and tipped INT that changed the complex of the game. Seems like they've been on the receiving end of that kind of luck so far this year, so nice game to get some breaks.

They'll probably be scouting local high schools for safeties this week.

Also - awesome INT for a TD by Nincovich. Haven't seen LB play like that in a long time.

I'm still amazed that Atlanta made that call with that much time remaining in the overtime period. And the play call was especially bad.

Bengals could still gut their way to 10 wins, but it'll be a lot harder now.

And as you said earlier, I figured all those quick routes would end up costing them. I was crying for a double move route all 4th quarter, but the main guy they have running those was on the sidelines.

They need to just cut their losses with Jerome Simpson and sign someone off the street at this point. He adds very little to the offense. Hopefully WR is at the top of the offseason acquisition list.

I think corner is now the #1 need. Hall could be substandard next season and Jones can't seem to stay healthy.

Yeah, you are probably right. I don't think Reggie Nelson and Chris Crocker are exactly playing at high levels either. The whole secondary could use a makeover.

Brady's starting to scare me a bit. He's just misfiring on too many throws each game. He's still capable of being Brady, as seen with the late drive last week and the last drive of the first half this week, but I've seen more balls thrown behind receivers or hitting the ground in front of them or sailing over them than I think I've ever seen out of him.

Great to get the win against the Jets.

The sad thing about the situation in Indy is that I am not even sure Luck is the best option. I haven't seen anything from him that really makes me go "wow". There are probably going to be at least 2 or 3 other QBs in this class with just as much NFL ability. This offseason will be extremely interesting to see what happens with Peyton.. And the Colts need a total overhaul. They're built for Manning, and he is a once in a lifetime talent. Nobody will be able to step in and do what he did.
