I smoked West Virginia something like 37-14. Played a very solid all-around game and I was very pleased. I think I only cursed out loud once, which is probably a record for me.

We're now 3-2, and once again fighting back after a poor start to the season. I feel the team is improving defensively, although that could just be because I'm playing CPU opponents right now.

Today's game showed why this is the best Arkansas team I've had so far. An 87-0 win over #24 Auburn.

Tyler Wilson was 11-13 for 314 yards and a 5 touchdowns and was taken out after the first half. Ricky Bowling ran the ball 25 times for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns. Michael Myers ran the ball 25 times for 208 yards and 1 touchdown. Nick Davis only had 4 carries but turned those 4 into 142 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Maybe Wilson can get himself into Heisman contention after today. On the season he is 71-84 for 1208 yards, 21 touchdowns and 0 interceptions for a QB Rating of 287.8.

Another game against another team rated WAY better than me..

With 1:30 or so left we're down 29-24. We're on about their 30. I have to throw to my 3rd option WR, and he grabs it, breaks 3 tackles, TD! w00t!

We miss the 2-pt, so we're up 30-29.

So they've got the ball left. I've done little to stop their offense except when they went into clock draining mode. So, they come out throwing.

With about 1:15 left my CB jumps in front of a route on the flat and GETS IT! PICK 6!

So, now there's 1:10 left and we're up 37-29. They can still tie it.

They're moving the ball well, just chucking it downfield. Next thing you know my rookie FS grabs another pick!

So, we're able to drain the clock and UVA is victorious 37-29!

This was one of the most fun, rewarding games I've played. It was nerve racking when I went up 37-29 and the really bad thunderstorms here kicked up BIG time. I was worried that power would cut out.

Just a side note. I have a SS that has gone up 7 points since last season. 4 in the offseason progression and 3 since then. On a team that has a lot of holes, I have two 92 RS Junior SS's. I'm hoping that the one that doesn't get much PT doesn't jump ship.

I'm actually a little nervous for my game tonight. Ironhead has come closer each time and he has an excellent roster, and it's a pain in the ass to play in his stadium.

Well Ironhead finally got the best of me, taking me down 45-38. It was a pretty sloppy game at points, but the difference was that I just couldn't stop his running game when it was most important. It seemed like every time I started toughening up, he would be able to break off a 8+ yard run that would erase whatever progress I made.

I lost starting QB Justin Tepper for much of the 2nd quarter and then again late in the 3rd for the rest of the game. I'm too much of a passing team to rely on my huge scrambling QB in Josh Mobley and it showed. First IH forced me into a 3 and out, and then when I tried utilizing Mobley's speed with the option, he blew up my RB and forced a TO. Mobley did put together a nice drive in the 4th, but the short game isn't my strong suit. I finally had the bright idea of putting in my true frosh QB Jones, and he led a beautiful drive but it just wasn't enough. Ironhead put together a nice drive and I couldn't stop a crucial sweep on 3rd and 6 where my blitzing LB completely missed his RB and there was no one there to pick up the slack.

Great game Ironhead. Interesting that we all beat up on each other; since we're in the same division I'll need some help though.

Great game Ironhead. Interesting that we all beat up on each other; since we're in the same division I'll need some help though.

The running game was definitely the difference. In years past we just couldn't get any yards on the ground against your defense. It would leave me in a lot of 3rd and longs where I would inevitably make a mistake.

The first quarter was probably the biggest part of the game. Being able to open the game with that 14 play drive was huge for me. When you returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown it completely crushed me. I always play much better when I am ahead as I tend to stick to the running game more. Had I not immediately turned around and marched down the field to go up 14-7 the entire game could have turned out differently.

Heh, I couldn't help trying that wide receiver pass again during our game. I think the only two times I have tried it are during our games. That officially makes me 0 for 2 with 2 picks on the attempts.

I was worried the game was slipping away from me late when you closed it to 38-31. I had noticed from earlier in the game that there might be a hole on the right side of your defense. My backup tailback busted that run right through the right side of your line and took off.

On defense our game ball has to go to defensive end Michael Ebbitt. He was up your ass all game long. He also caused the hit on the option that forced the fumble. A close second would go to Trent Hunter for picking the ball off twice.

Again, great game and good luck the rest of the way. Hopefully we can get at least one more season under our belts so you can try to get your revenge in Stillwater.
