RIP Chester Bennington (Lead Singer of Linkin Park)

Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Dead, Commits Suicide by Hanging | TMZ.com

Haven't listened to them in years, but Linkin Park was very very popular during my high school years (turn 30 in a month). Hybrid Theory was incredible.

On what would have been Chris Cornell's birthday.

It's sad regardless, but they had a good little run during that period of time when nu-metal was fusing rap/rock okay for a particular audience. Like some other folks, their stuff was definitely part of my playlists during that time and hearing it these days, I still like it.

RIP.

Yeah, apparently they were very close. Chester was the godfather for one of Chris's kids and gave the eulogy at Chris's funeral. Between that and the fact that Chester has said he was suicidal in the past due to being molested as a kid, I guess the new tour starting in a week wasn't enough to continue forward.

Very sad, I also used to listen to them a decade ago. Tragic what has been going on with some of these artists.

I really liked their new album a lot. It was definitely a cry for help though. I'm not sure what drove him to do it, but I'm sad about it.

Very sad...definitely grew up with their music and they were a big influence on my taste back in those days.
