Regarding reshacker:

One thing to keep in mind is that with FOF2K4, patches/updates were always complete overwrites of the entire download. I did a little checking, and he did two pretty significant patches within 3 weeks of the release of that game, the first one coming only 9 days after the release. I'd probably wait for a patch or two before going the reshacker route, to avoid having to do it all over again a short time later.

Edited positions now too. Changed the font and also the QB colour to a more red one to better difference it from the RB's.

Icy,

Whatever you need to keep redoing the game's graphics and make them more appealing. Whether that be drink, food, or women just let me know.

Again, great job, and I am searching for resHacker and it's tutorial as I type.

Ok, for those that don't know how to edit the .exe file with reshacker, here is mine already modded with the new positions tags and numerical tags.

To use it do the following:

- Make sure you don't have the game running.
- Go to the FOF2k7 folder (by default C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007).
- Rename your FrFoot2007.exe to FrFoot2007.old (this is just to backup the original).
- Unzip the content of my zip file in that location (by default C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007)

Launch the game, you should see the changes.

LINK REMOVED AS IT'S NO LONGER UPDATED

Here is how it will look, scout view:

Opps sorry, fixed, the upload didn't work, just uploaded it again.

Btw, Skydog is correct, this changes will be undone every time you download and install any new official patch but i'll publish a modified exe after every patch. Of course it's better to learn how to use reshack.

Hmm, I smell my first FOF2k7 utility coming on ;-)

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...gResources.asp

(for those that don't speak programmer, this means I can probably write a utility to auto-swap these resources whenever a new version of the game is released...)

Icy,

just one small thing. I noticed the service years are still faded in your screenshot. Is there any chance you could spruce those up, too?

Yes, it's the next thing I'll edit as are to easy to read either. I'll leave the faded players numbers as are not that important so i prefer them to not to be as noticeable.

Can someone post how the logos are named, at least an example so I can get mine finished?

I finally got rid of my headache (hangover from last night and this morning) but I haven't purchased the game yet. (although I plan to later tonight)

Thanks!

I don't have them written anywhere but download my set and you can see them pretty fast. They are not named by the cities or anything, just ban8.bmp ban12.bmp etc.

The numbers don't correlate to the city codes in the game? I thought Jim said that they did...

Yeah, me too.

Just a quick note for everyone who is going to edit these:
-300: ratings
-302: positions tags
-323: years of experience

Sure, count on me for testing it. Btw, have you looked into the posibillity of creating a player editor? It shouldn't be so hard for you with your programming skills.

Depends on what you want edited. So far I've avoided modifying the binary files for three reasons:
  1. If I screw it up, Jim gets support calls, not me. That's not fair to him in any way, shape, or form.
  2. I've done my best to avoid having anything to do with player ratings for cheating reasons.
  3. I've got enough other work to do.
The closest I've been tempted to do with this was a stadium editor for levelling the economic playing field in multiplayer leagues, but then Jim added that feature to 2k7

Hmm, I thought this would be different. I'm talking about a name editor, not a ratings editor, for the coaching staff.

Guess I was wrong.

Anything that makes me update the binary data, no matter how simple, falls under what I said. There really needs to be a VERY good reason before I muck with it. A name editor doesn't fall afoul of my #2 reason above (that was specific to Icy's request), but reasons #1 and #3 still apply. Reason #1 is enough to make me extremely unlikely to ever want to touch the binary data.

Edited

I'm finding the black-on-red QB one to be a bit hard to read (can't focus on the text well). With a red that red, maybe change the "QB" to white?

Oh yeah, expect the beta of my auto-patcher tonight

Any chance you (or someone) could take a crack at the position tags using the same color scheme from 2004? The font is an issue to me, but so is the pastel color scheme... everything looks so close to each other to me, I thought things were very clear in 2004.

Launch the game, you should see the changes.

DOWNLOAD IT HERE

Here is how it will look, scout view:

I followed this and it worked. However the depth chart (bars window) does not appear for individual players (pre 6.0). Is this some how erasing the 6.0 patch? Also everytime I open the game I get a security box asking if I want to Run this. Any idea?
