Friday, November 19th, 2145: The Brooklyn Brownstones have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Dane Haney, this year's Continental League Gabriel Prado Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Haney compiled a 17-6 record in 33 starts, tallied 122 strikeouts in 196.1 innings and recorded a 2.57 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .248 batting average against him. Republic League Pitcher of the Year Named Friday, November 19th, 2145: Tony López of the Hartford Harpooners was on cloud nine during the 2145 season, mystifying most of the hitters he faced, then capping it off with the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award. López was spectacular in 33 starting assignments with 20 wins and 6 losses, 225.2 innings, 171 strikeouts and a fine 3.15 ERA.

Two years in a row for my guys. Brown and Torres were both rookies this season, and Torres made All Star at catcher but isn't quite fully developed. Would have liked to save him for another season but had no other real option.
I'm just glad I got Pablo and Rob a ring before they retired. Pablo for HOF! Tell |

I had the same story with my catcher Kono, except he didn't win ROY. I had to bring him up earlier than I liked, but within a season after bringing him up, he was fully developed and made the All Star team. Sometimes, your players just have to learn on the job--they just refuse to develop in the minors. The hard part is when you have to figure out whether it's a guy like Kono, who will develop in the majors, or like a lot of other prospects, who simply don't ever develop. Sucks to take the risk of bringing up a kid hoping he'll develop and putting your season at risk, only to have the kid not develop at all.

This may be true, but the two lynchy got and Lozano with Colorado were the only SPs I really felt were worth multi-year contracts on my squad. It hurts me this season missing out on Ibarra. I don't know if I am going to like the remaining options I see when I get home.
