CL Best Hitter Award to London's Motonobu Okada
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 30-year-old Motonobu Okada put together a solid offensive month for London and was crowned April's top batter in the Continental League.

He batted .375 with 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored.


Booker Wins Best Bat Award in April
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: Ron Booker battered Republic League pitchers all April and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around FOOL-X long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 30-year-old Booker told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 24 games, Booker hit .384 with 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 25 runs.

Pérez Selected CL's Best Pitcher
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: Júlio Pérez nailed down April's Continental League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on Havana to get a deal done before the 30-year-old becomes a free agent.

Pérez seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 4-0 record, reeled off 38 strikeouts, worked 32 innings and held batters to a .208 average for the month as he posted a 1.69 ERA.


Chapman Best RL Starter in April
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: Veteran Nelson Chapman put together quite a successful stretch in April for the Waikiki Beach Boys, earning himself the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

Chapman racked up a 4-0 record in 5 starts, posting a 3.24 ERA over 33.1 innings and striking out 29.

Aguilar Picked April's Best Newcomer
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: April was a month to remember for Havana right fielder Roberto Aguilar and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Continental League Rookie of the Month award.

Aguilar compiled a .273 batting average and .385 on-base percentage last month. In 21 games he piled up 21 hits, 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored.


Republic League Names Rookie of Month
Saturday, May 1st, 2083: Scott Schmidt's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Ann Arbor catcher has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In April he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .350 with 5 doubles, no triples and 2 home runs. Schmidt also scored 8 times and drove in 12 runs.

Alfonso Delgado Winner in Continental League
Tuesday, June 1st, 2083: Alfonso Delgado capped off a fine May by being named the Continental League Batter of the Month today.

St Cloud's center fielder hit .347 while collecting 7 home runs, 16 RBIs and scoring 17 runs. He also drew 16 walks to post an OBP of .441.

Delgado currently has a .304 batting average with 56 hits, 13 homers, 32 RBIs, 32 runs scored and a .400 OBP.


Desbiens Wins Best Bat Trophy in May
Tuesday, June 1st, 2083: It was a good month for Las Vegas Wildcats left fielder Carl Desbiens, May's Republic League Batter of the Month.

Desbiens starred by hitting .395 with a .455 on-base percentage. He totaled 47 hits in 119 at-bats, 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 27 runs.

Desbiens is currently hitting at a .374 pace with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs.

CL Top Pitcher in May: Shimizu
Tuesday, June 1st, 2083: Ryunosuke Shimizu was the anchor in the Plantana bullpen last month and snatched up the Continental League Pitcher of the Month honors for May. The 32-year-old is in the prime of his career and pitching like he intends to stay around baseball for quite some time to come.

He threw 16.2 innings over 14 relief appearances and collected a 3-1 record with 23 strikeouts and 6 saves while etching his 1.62 ERA.

This season Shimizu has 11 saves. In 24 relief appearances he has hurled 27.1 innings, struck out 37 and given up 7 walks with a 3-1 record. The Plantana reliever has recorded a 1.98 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .267 when he is on the hill.


Republic League Premier Pitcher is Chapman
Tuesday, June 1st, 2083: Nelson Chapman's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-1 in May, the 33-year-old Waikiki hurler has been named Republic League Pitcher of the Month.

He fanned 20 in 35 innings, logged an ERA of 2.57 and allowed opponents to hit .235 against him.

This season Chapman has a 8-1 record with a 2.90 ERA.

Tuesday, June 1st, 2083: During the month Roberto Aguilar socked and slapped the baseball all over Continental League ballparks to pull in a majority of the votes for the Rookie of the Month award.

In May the right fielder for Havana collected 24 hits, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He batted .267 with a .346 OBP.

To date, Aguilar has collected 45 hits for a .269 average. He has posted 6 home runs, scored 27 runs and driven in 25 runs.

Thursday, July 1st, 2083: Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Harrie Beyen still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in June. The 32-year-old starter for Washington was named Continental League Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 5 wins and no losses with 28 strikeouts in his 5 starts, putting up a fine 1.85 ERA in 34 innings of work.

Thursday, July 1st, 2083: Roberto Aguilar of the Havana Banana Sluggers collared June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Continental League.

CL's #1 Batter Chosen
Sunday, August 1st, 2083: London center fielder Motonobu Okada was certainly bad news for pitchers in the month of July. He wore them out going 47 for 101 and was rewarded with the Continental League Batter of the Month award.

He hit .465 with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 13 runs.

Looking at his stats this year, Okada has compiled a .323 batting average, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 82 runs. He has played in 104 games and scored 56 runs.


Republic League Selects July's Best Batter
Sunday, August 1st, 2083: Jean-François Rhéaume of the Spring Lions stood out in July with a .342 batting average against Republic League pitchers to land him the Batter of the Month award.

Sunday, August 1st, 2083: July was a magical month for Silvino Hope of Stafford. He held the Continental League hitters spellbound, conjuring up a 4-0 mark and a 1.35 ERA.

Hope also chalked up 5 starts, 33.1 innings and 33 strikeouts.

For this outstanding performance he was rewarded with the Pitcher of the Month trophy.

In 21 starts this season Hope has compiled a 11-3 record and a 2.33 ERA.


RL #1 Pitcher in July is Maricopa's Bendiola
Sunday, August 1st, 2083: Whether Fernando Bendiola stays in Maricopa beyond this season remains to be seen, but while he's here he's making the most of it. In July the 33-year-old certainly pulled out all the stops by winning the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

He put up some fancy numbers with a 4-1 record and and an ERA of 1.31. In 41.1 innings he struck out 25, surrendered 26 hits, 4 walks and proved to be a solid performer in 5 starts last month.

In 21 starts this season Bendiola has crafted a 9-8 record with a 3.64 ERA.

Aguilar Nabs CL Monthly Rookie Award
Sunday, August 1st, 2083: In July Roberto Aguilar swatted his way to the Rookie of the Month Award in the Continental League by putting up a .261 batting average.

The Havana Banana Sluggers right fielder also racked up 18 hits, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 16 runs.

This season Aguilar is batting .269 with 87 hits, 15 home runs, 49 RBIs, 37 walks, .341 OBP and has scored 54 runs. He has played in 92 games.

Great August Gets Rivera CL Best Hitter Award
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: José Rivera is in the final year of his contract with Stafford and today added a timely piece of hardware to his trophy case. Playing in 28 games in August the 32-year-old first baseman ripped Continental League pitchers for a .307 batting average, nabbing him the Batter of the Month award.

He also rang up 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored.

If Rivera keeps up this pace, he'll cost someone a lot of money.

To date this year Rivera is batting .237 with 21 home runs.


Evans Takes RL's Best Bat Trophy
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: Charles Evans has been the model of consistency over the past month and has been a tough out, claiming the Republic League Batter of the Month trophy for August.

The Cleveland center fielder hit .378 with 16 home runs, 44 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He was also walked 7 times and posted a .412 on-base percentage.

CL's Top Pitcher in August Is Carranza
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: The August Pitcher of the Month has been chosen and the Continental League award went to Havana hurler, Joaquín Carranza.

During the month, Carranza was impressive with a 1.70 ERA and 5 wins and no losses. In 42.1 innings he struck out 41 and gave up 29 hits and 9 walks.

Carranza has fashioned a 11-9 mark for the season, 3.64 ERA and thrown 163.1 innings in 27 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .250 against him.


Beach Boys Hurler Named August's #1 Starter
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: When John Becker takes the hill, he usually takes command of the game -- at least that's the way it was in August. The outcome was usually a Waikiki victory. His fine 4-0 performance earned him the Republic League Pitcher of the Month trophy.

The talented Beach Boys hurler made 5 starts, worked 26 innings, permitted 20 base hits, and struck out 27 while putting up a 2.08 ERA.

Becker has made 26 starts so far this year and put up a 7-7 won-lost record with a 5.17 ERA. In 120 innings he has allowed 120 hits, walked 82 and struck out 138.

Roberson Tabbed CL's Top Rookie
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: Mark Roberson earned August's Rookie of the Month honors in the Continental League for last month's performance. The boyish London right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Roberson hit .294 with 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 13 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

Roberson's current batting average stands at .260 and he has chalked up 16 home runs and 62 RBIs.


Gui Named RL's Best Rookie
Wednesday, September 1st, 2083: Min Gui was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 24-year-old first baseman definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen August's Republic League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 25 games Gui batted .383 for Maricopa, slapping 31 hits in 81 at-bats with 6 home runs, drove in 14 runs and scored 16 times.

In the current season, Gui has put up a .286 batting average with 111 hits, 9 home runs, 47 runs batted in and scored 46 runs.

Maldonado Wins CL Prize, Named Best Hitter in September
Friday, October 1st, 2083: António Maldonado, the St Louis Hops left fielder, certainly made his name known to Continental League hurlers over the last month. He consistently introduced himself with hit after hit and came away with September's Continental League Batter of the Month award.

He slashed and bashed his way to a .382 batting average while tallying up no home runs, 10 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He also worked CL pitchers for 23 walks and a .496 on-base percentage.

Maldonado is hitting .327 in 2083 with 52 RBIs and 2 home runs.


Mercado Crowned Top RL Hitter in September
Friday, October 1st, 2083: The vote is in and António Mercado, the 29-year-old left fielder for Cleveland, is the winner. Today he was honored with the Republic League Batter of the Month award.

Reliever Claims CL Pitching Award
Friday, October 1st, 2083: Edgardo Martínez has been around the league long enough to know that relievers are often overlooked. That has never stopped him from doing what he does best -- and he did it extremely well in September and stole away with the Continental League Pitcher of the Month award.

The Freedom bullpen ace collected 10 saves and 24 strikeouts in 15.2 innings, holding the opposition to a .214 average and posting a 0.57 ERA and a 1-0 record.

To this point in the season, Martínez has 38 saves in 70 relief appearances with a 4-2 mark and 1.13 ERA. He has 120 strikeouts in 88 innings with 9 walks.

Friday, October 1st, 2083: It was a very good month for Todd Weeks in September. The 35-year-old veteran starter for the Cleveland Naps outpitched everybody -- young and old -- to claim the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award earlier today.

Does anyone have a problem if we switch FOOLX to OOTP12? If everyone has it there really isn't a point in waiting. I'd like to not have to control teams if I don't have to. I know a couple people I can get in the league the second the file is done. Missing the New York no export was the final straw me I think.

Yeah that's almost half the league which is ridiculous. We definitely should look at moving to 12 if that's the case.
