Saturday, November 6th, 2083: Great glovemen can range far and wide to make a backhand stop or an over-the-shoulder catch -- and the best usually make it look easy. Today the winners of the Continental League Slick Fielder Award for 2083 were announced. These awards for defensive excellence go to:

Havana Right Fielder Voted Top CL Rookie
Sunday, November 7th, 2083: This year's outstanding rookie has been chosen and the honor goes to Havana right fielder Roberto Aguilar. He received the 2083 Continental League Kien-lung Teng Award for his consistent play and solid numbers.

He finished the regular season with a .274 batting average, 19 doubles, 3 triples and 22 home runs. The 27-year-old Aguilar also had 77 RBIs and scored 82 times.


Portland Second Baseman Named RL's Best Rookie
Sunday, November 7th, 2083: In his first season, Chester Ford not only won the hearts and cheers of the local Portland fans, he also nabbed the Republic League Kien-lung Teng Award.

This gifted second baseman compiled a .286 batting average while collecting 7 home runs and 71 RBIs with a .335 on-base percentage and scoring 118 runs.

Continental League Pitcher of the Year Named
Tuesday, November 9th, 2083: The Stafford clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Silvino Hope will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2083 Continental League Mauro Morales Award.

Hope made 33 starts this year, winning 18 and losing 7. He threw 202.1 innings, fanned 223, allowed 176 hits and 55 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .233 average as he logged an impressive 2.62 ERA.


2083 RL Mauro Morales Award Announced
Tuesday, November 9th, 2083: The Republic League announced today that Nelson Chapman has been chosen the Mauro Morales Award winner for 2083. The Waikiki hurler had everything working for him as he cruised to a outstanding 15-6 record.

Chapman put up an impressive 2.84 ERA in his award-winning season. He started 32 times, worked 212.2 innings, yielded 206 hits, walked 40, fanned 137 and held opposing hitters to a .256 average.

Durán Nabs CL Bartolo Liriano Award
Wednesday, November 10th, 2083: The top votegetter in this year's Continental League Bartolo Liriano Award balloting was Orlando Durán, the outstanding Havana second baseman. He finished the season with a .295 average and a .405 on-base percentage. Orlando Durán also registered 186 hits, 55 doubles, 5 triples, 16 home runs, 84 RBIs and 105 runs scored.



Booker RL Selection for 2083 Bartolo Liriano Award
Wednesday, November 10th, 2083: Ron Booker has been around FOOL-X enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2083 season, he's taking home the Bartolo Liriano Award in the Republic League.

The Waikiki center fielder put up a batting average of .330 with 45 doubles, 11 triples, 49 home runs and 140 RBIs.

After I'm done simming the playoffs on Tuesday, I will upgrade to OOTP12. Then we won't sim on Wednesday to give everyone an extra day to get all setup. I will then run a sim on Saturday morning to get back to the schedule. I have 3 teams already filled once we move to OOTP12.
