If you go to the offseason center, the top two FA's left are my FA's (Olson and Hornback)

It happened again.

At least I got some supplemental picks this year.

My rotation is crazy....but are we going to score runs?

Yeah I saw the talent sitting in free agency but alas I don't really have that much money. Or at least I don't think I do. I don't really know the finance situation yet. And I'm surely not going to buy any longterm contracts now.
But man only 11 Mill to buy FA. I may starve.

Yeah, I think draft pick compensation is sort of a mixed blessing because it does cause really good players to sit out simply because people refuse to give up picks for guys. But since this league has always been that way, maybe it's some kind of strategic thing?

Then it's (iMho) a bad strategy but I'll find out won't I. "If you don't buy talent, then you won't win" has always been my motto.

Maybe. I think that the beauty of fast-sim is that there are so many ways to engineer a run if you're strategic. I know I hate giving away picks though, so if it's a guy it needs to be worth it. But in one of my other OOTP leagues (FOBL), I've been trading draft picks away for cash to keep my team contending and it's worked. So I think it's really about figuring out what works.

I do agree that it's silly to let awesome talent sit though, but if the market demands it...hey.

I don't care about picks unless I have like top picks. You want my picks? Take em!

The value of the pick depends on the class. It is why I am usually conservative on the first free agent period. I want to know what level of talent I am dealing with before I give a good pick away.

That said, if the draft is a pile of poo, I will sign just about any Type A if I feel that player will help my team in the coming season. I would rather have a mediocre player who can help me now than a mediocre prospect who might help me five years from now.

Type Bs I sign without even thinking about draft pick compensation. I don't lose any picks myself, and it's pretty rare that a second rounder and below will yield a player worth it enough to want the supplemental round to be small.

I don't mind resigning players. I either go all or nothing. If I need picks I don't bid on anyone that will make me lose one.

OTher years I just bid till I drop. But that's only if I'm a contender.
