CL Names Slick Fielder Award Choices for 2085
Sunday, November 4th, 2085: What does it take to win a Slick Fielder Award? It's a combination of good hands, knowing how to play the hitters, all-out hustle and a willingness to sacrifice your body to make a play. Good speed and a good arm never hurt, either, but not always required. This year's all-defense team in the Continental League consists of:

Sunday, November 4th, 2085: Who are the Slick Fielder Award winners? They are the guys that steal outs. They make spectacular plays, but they also consistently make the routine plays. This year in the Republic League these defensive stalwarts made a name for themselves with their gloves:

Continental League Top Rookie Named
Monday, November 5th, 2085: The fine rookie right fielder from St Cloud, Manuel Longoria, was hailed today as the winner of the 2085 Continental League Kien-lung Teng Award.

Longoria finished his freshman season hitting .316 with 7 home runs, 40 RBIs and 85 runs scored.


Marrero Top Rookie in 2085
Monday, November 5th, 2085: It was a very productive rookie season for Spring second baseman Vincente Marrero. He made the club, made the starting lineup, then in the regular season put up numbers impressive enough that the Republic League presented him the league's Kien-lung Teng Award for 2085.

It was a season to remember for the 22-year-old Lions newcomer. In addition to hitting .249, Marrero played in 161 games and collected 14 home runs, 54 RBIs and 70 runs scored.

CL Mauro Morales Award Goes to Zingler
Wednesday, November 7th, 2085: The Oshawa Mullets have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's Alexander Zingler, this year's Continental League Mauro Morales Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Zingler compiled a 15-7 record in 32 starts, tallied 133 strikeouts in 215.2 innings and recorded a 2.30 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .233 batting average against him.


Peña Grabs RL Mauro Morales Award
Wednesday, November 7th, 2085: This season the elite pitcher in the Republic League was a reliever.
José Peña, the Spring bullpen artist, has been honored as the 2085 Mauro Morales Award winner.

For the year he piled up 31 saves in 34 save opportunities. He appeared in 59 games and compiled a 10-6 mark with an impressive 1.82 ERA.

CL's Best Hitter for 2085 Named
Thursday, November 8th, 2085: Félix Gonzáles has been around FOOL-X enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2085 season, he's taking home the Bartolo Liriano Award in the Continental League.

The Plantana first baseman put up a batting average of .305 with 51 doubles, 6 triples, 30 home runs and 85 RBIs.


2085 Top Batter Selected In RL
Thursday, November 8th, 2085: It's been a year of triumph for veteran António Mercado of the Cleveland Naps as he hit his way to the 2085 Republic League Bartolo Liriano Award.

The 32-year-old veteran compiled a .329 average and .388 on-base percentage by putting together 225 hits, 44 doubles, 11 triples, 25 home runs and 67 walks. He also scored 112 times and drove in 93 runs.
