I only had 1 instruction today and that one didn't apply because the player signed with an AI team. I don't mind doing them when instructions are detailed. You detail it very well FTR. Sometime I will show you guys a Chief instruction because his is done awesome and makes it so easy.

Great April Gets Sánchez CL Best Hitter Award
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: Esteban Sánchez of the Freedom hit .333 in April with 11 home runs, 37 RBIs and 17 runs scored to capture a majority of votes for the Continental League Batter of the Month trophy.

The 32-year-old is in the last year of his contract and will undoubtedly use these numbers to try and bring in a huge pay raise.


RL's Best Batter Selected
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 33-year-old Jean-François Rhéaume put together a solid offensive month for Las Vegas and was crowned April's top batter in the Republic League.

He batted .455 with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 26 runs scored.

Mullets Chapman April's #1 Pitcher
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Nelson Chapman still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in April. The 35-year-old starter for Oshawa was named Continental League Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 4 wins and 1 loss with 23 strikeouts in his 6 starts, putting up a fine 1.31 ERA in 41.1 innings of work.


Republic League Premier Pitcher is Ortega
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: José Ortega is at the zenith of his career and today he was selected as the Republic League Pitcher of the Month for April.

He made 13 relief appearances for Las Vegas last month, throwing 14 innings and collecting 11 saves, a 1-0 record, 13 strikeouts and a 0.64 ERA.

CL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: Youngster Marcos Morán emerged as the latest Continental League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from London deserved the honor, batting .316 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Is the month of April a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Morán enjoy the limelight.


Republic League Names Rookie of Month
Wednesday, May 1st, 2086: Alejandro Martínez is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Republic League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

In April the Cleveland hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .313 average with 31 hits, 2 home runs and 12 RBIs.

Super Month Nets Drake #1 Batter Prize in CL
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: Dennis Drake battered Continental League pitchers all May and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around FOOL-X long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 28-year-old Drake told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 29 games, Drake hit .333 with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 23 runs.

This season Drake is batting .258 with 47 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 29 times and has 36 runs batted in.


Desbiens Crowned Top RL Hitter in May
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: Prospective free agents love to have hot streaks and Carl Desbiens is no exception. The Ann Arbor left fielder capped off a fine month by hauling in Batter of the Month honors in the Republic League.

In May Desbiens hit .333 with 11 home runs, 31 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

So far this year Desbiens is batting .318 with 17 home runs.

Continental League Selects #1 Starter in May
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: Harrie Beyen nailed down May's Continental League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on London to get a deal done before the 35-year-old becomes a free agent.

Beyen seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 5-0 record, reeled off 31 strikeouts, worked 40.1 innings and held batters to a .210 average for the month as he posted a 1.56 ERA.

Thus far this season Beyen has posted a 7-1 record, started 10 games, struck out 41 batters in 59.2 innings and compiled a 2.56 ERA.


Becker RL Winner, Top Hurler in May
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: May was a magical month for John Becker of Waikiki. He held the Republic League hitters spellbound, conjuring up a 5-1 mark and a 1.54 ERA.

Becker also chalked up 6 starts, 41 innings and 29 strikeouts.

For this outstanding performance he was rewarded with the Pitcher of the Month trophy.

So far this season Becker has compiled a 6-5 record with a 3.55 ERA.

CL Names Rookie of the Month
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: Mario Elías's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Havana right fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In May he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .380 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run. Elías also scored 10 times and drove in 12 runs.

This year Elías is hitting .302, produced 18 RBIs and 2 home runs, scored 16 times and gotten on base at a .367 rate.


Red-Hot Spring Rookie Rated RL's Best
Saturday, June 1st, 2086: In May Juan Rojas swatted his way to the Rookie of the Month Award in the Republic League by putting up a .300 batting average.

The Spring Lions catcher also racked up 33 hits, 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 16 runs.

Rojas is batting .281 this season in 53 games with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 59 hits in 210 at-bats.

Salamanca of St Louis CL Batter of the Month
Monday, July 1st, 2086: When guys like St Louis's Claudio Salamanca win Batter of the Month awards, it just makes you feel good. In a productive June, the longtime Continental League veteran toyed with opposing pitchers all month long, collecting 30 hits in 99 at-bats.

The veteran shortstop hit for a .303 batting average and collected 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

Posting a .251 batting average to date, Salamanca has 11 home runs and 61 RBIs.


Sisson Snags RL Batting Honor in June
Monday, July 1st, 2086: Greg Sisson got another reason to celebrate today as he followed up a great month of June at the plate by winning the Republic League Batter of the Month Award.

During the month, the Maricopa center fielder hit .301 with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 25 runs scored.

In the current season, Sisson has put up a .272 batting average with 87 hits, 18 home runs, 66 runs batted in and scored 54 runs.

Reliever Banda Chosen June's Best in CL
Monday, July 1st, 2086: Emílio Banda has been around the league long enough to know that relievers are often overlooked. That has never stopped him from doing what he does best -- and he did it extremely well in June and stole away with the Continental League Pitcher of the Month award.

The Bishops bullpen ace collected 9 saves and 11 strikeouts in 15.1 innings, holding the opposition to a .135 average and posting a 0.59 ERA and a 2-0 record.

Currently Banda has 21 saves. In 35 relief appearances he has hurled 44.1 innings, struck out 42 and issued 13 walks with a 4-1 record. The London reliever has recorded a 1.02 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .196 when he is on the mound.

Tadeo Tabbed as June's Starter of the Month
Monday, July 1st, 2086: Gabriel Tadeo's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in June, the 27-year-old Maricopa hurler has been named Republic League Pitcher of the Month.

He fanned 46 in 41.2 innings, logged an ERA of 1.51 and allowed opponents to hit .173 against him.

In pitching stats this season Tadeo has rung up 9 wins and 5 losses in 17 games. He has an ERA of 3.39 and has fanned 121 batters in 116.2 innings.

CL's Top-Rated Rookie Honored
Monday, July 1st, 2086: Andre Roberts might not have fully digested the impact of winning June's Continental League Rookie of the Month award when he got the news earlier today, but the 23-year-old quickly learned that he was no longer your typical rookie.

Posting a mark of 4-0 won-lost record will do that. In 6 starts he tossed 35.1 innings with 24 strikeouts and a 2.80 ERA. Opposing teams hit .248 against him during the month.

Not bad for a first-year man.

So far this season Roberts has a 6-5 record, 17 starts, 92.1 innings, 74 strikeouts and a 4.19 ERA.


RL Chooses Rookie of the Month
Monday, July 1st, 2086: A veritable toddler to the Republic League, Alejandro Martínez just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for June.

Over the past month the 25-year-old first baseman for Cleveland hit .350 with 35 hits, 7 home runs and 12 RBI. He also logged 3 walks and compiled a .365 on-base percentage.

This season Martínez has hit at a .295 clip with 36 RBIs, 13 home runs and 50 runs scored. He has played in 82 games.

It's a baseball spectacle for the fans and the players alike. It's the 2086 FOOL-X All-Star Game. Okada Awarded July's CL Top Bat Prize
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Though his face is weathered and his hands are calloused, Motonobu Okada can still get it done in FOOL-X. In fact, the 33-year-old right fielder for St Cloud was named the Continental League Batter of the Month today after putting up an impressive performance at the plate.

In July he batted .333 with 13 home runs, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

Okada is presently hitting at a .294 pace with 38 home runs, 76 RBIs and has scored 71 times.


Ann Arbor's McCormick Snaps up July Batting Award
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: On the heels of a very productive July, Bobby McCormick received Republic League Batter of the Month recognition today.

The battle-tested left fielder hit .321 for the Ann Arbor Wolverines and racked up 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

So far this season McCormick is batting .305 with 14 home runs.

Zingler Cops #1 Pitcher Award in July
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: The hottest hurler in the Continental League last month was Alexander Zingler of the Oshawa Mullets. He caught the attention of everybody in the league with some eye-catching stats, good enough to win the CL Pitcher of the Month.

In July, Zingler starred with an impressive 5-0 record. In 5 starts he gave up 18 base hits and struck out 28 in 36 innings with a 0.75 ERA.

In 22 starts this year Zingler has fashioned a 15-3 record and a 2.47 ERA.


RL Announces July's Best Starter
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: It's official!
Jung-ook Mun of the Maricopa Rattlers is the Republic League Pitcher of the Month. In July he dominated the league with 4 wins and no losses in 6 starts. In 43.1 innings of work Mun chalked up 34 strikeouts, 4 walks, a 1.04 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .215 batting average.

For the season Mun has compiled a 10-5 record with a 3.55 ERA.

Morán Voted July's Top Rookie
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Marcos Morán earned July's Rookie of the Month honors in the Continental League for last month's performance. The boyish London first baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Morán hit .309 with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

This year Morán is batting .299 with 7 home runs and 36 RBIs. In 101 games he has scored 38 times.


Newcomer Honored by Republic League
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Alejandro Martínez was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 25-year-old first baseman definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen July's Republic League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 25 games Martínez batted .284 for Cleveland, slapping 27 hits in 95 at-bats with 3 home runs, drove in 15 runs and scored 9 times.

In 2086 Martínez has hit at a .292 clip with 116 hits, 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and has scored 59 times.

Gardner Snares CL Top Batter Award in August
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Plantana left fielder Braydon Gardner took home the Continental League Batter of the Month Trophy for August.

He put up some solid numbers, including a .340 batting average and .445 on-base percentage with 34 hits, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Batting .272 to date, Gardner has 19 home runs and 68 RBIs.

Sunday, September 1st, 2086: The Republic League has given Hui-ying She the Batter of the Month Award.

In August, the Portland right fielder starred with a .327 batting average, 12 home runs and 33 RBIs. She also had 8 walks, posted a .368 on-base percentage and scored 19 times.

Best Pitcher Picked by Continental League
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: In August when the St Louis manager wrote the name "Richter" on the lineup card, he knew he had a good shot at winning. Start after start in the month, Larry Richter took the hill, took charge and usually got the win.

He dominated with a 4-0 mark and 0.76 ERA in 5 starts. The gifted Hops star pitched 35.1 innings, fanned 36 and held opposing teams to a .153 average.

For his outstanding mound performance Richter was named the CL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.

Presently Richter has a 14-5 mark in 26 starts with a 2.38 ERA. He has given up 126 hits in 162.2 innings, struck out 155 and issued 23 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .211 batting average against him.


Relief Star Wins RL Top Pitcher Honors
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: The spotlight today is on Glenn Pugh of the Ann Arbor Wolverines. The bullpen ace was named the top pitcher in the Republic League for August.

Ann Arbor's star reliever held the opposition to a .189 average and put up 1 save and 27 strikeouts in 25 innings with a 3-0 mark and a 1.80 ERA.

Pugh's record so far this season is 7-and-3 with 4 saves and a 3.39 ERA. He has given up 81 hits in 93 innings with 99 strikeouts.

CL Best Rookie Award Announced
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Few players his age have the consistency to put a solid month together, but Washington's Alastair Snow carved up the opposition all August long and hauled off the Continental League Rookie of the Month award today as a result.

He sizzled last month with a 4-0 mark, fanning 29 in 38.1 innings with an ERA of 2.35 in 6 starts.

So far this year Snow has compiled a 8-8 record with a 3.81 ERA.


Rojas Receives August Rookie Award
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Juan Rojas of the Spring Lions has been voted the top Rookie in the Republic League.

In August he collected 35 hits, 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He batted .354 with a .404 OBP.

BTW, did mattcubs submit an export? I am stunned to see New York at the bottom of the standings. We all have those stretches, but mattcub has been running his franchise brilliantly for so long. The only other time I can recall NY finishing last was a few weeks ago when mattcubs didn't submit an export. Otherwise, even in bad years (which were rare), his squad was always solid. Which is a testament to how great an OOTP manager he is.

He didn't export for the season but he did for preseason. It looks like he had his roster set for the season in the last export.

Since you said something about the AI, now is a good time to bring up the fact that I'm trying to fill the league as best as I can. Now is just a down time of the year for baseball in general. It will start picking up again because spring training is starting soon.
