Congratulations, Test Subjects.
We had almost unanimous success with the signup test. Now we begin your next test: You will vote for a fellow test-mate.

To vote, simply display the word VOTE followed by the tester's name and decorate it in Unified extra thick aperture science text known as Boldface.

As in

VOTE MARY

This will signify that without any confusion or unsubstantiated data error, that you are voting for Mary. You have until 1900 hours PST to complete this test. You must vote for someone. If you do not vote for someone, votes for you will be processed. The winner of this test is the person who receives the most votes. Then a party.

>*BLEEPZ*<

Here's the beginning of Day 1. The winner received a party, exactly as CF told us.

It's possible. His write-up could mean that. But the evidence suggests that it is likely that no lynch is the tie-break rule, IMO.

You have until 7 PM PST to vote for another tester using your new tools.

At 3 PM PST there will be a special test for those around.

Here's the next day. Again, no mention of a lynch.

Well.... I'd say Gladdy would consider a lynch a party too, but you're right in that it could be just a day 1 thing.

Congratulations The Jackal! You have won the popularity of your testing peers and are now privileged to your own test. If you will notice The Jackal there is now an Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube Dispenser directly over you.

*Dump dump dump dump*

5602979531_6489a090c0_z.jpg

Notice now all the Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cubes Tumbling out of the Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube Dispenser.

*Thump thump thump thump*

Congratulations, The Jackal. You have successfully tested the frailty of a HUMAN APERTURE SCIENCE HUMAN TESTER. Everyone else please make a note. Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cubes can be deadly to humans when consumed in large quantities.

Please retrieve your belongings and proceed back to the next test chamber.

I agree. If anything, I think the result of the day 1 vote shows that a tie results in both players getting...whatever'ed.

Sorry Jackal. I'll take full responsibility for that one.

I don't see how we can't look at britrock tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll get some suspicion as well now.

Based on Jackal getting his body crush-tested today I'm going with the assumption right now that a tie means no lynch and a non-tie means a normal lynch. Obviously I could be wrong, but that's my best guess as to the rules we're playing under.

Hmmm..... I did a quick search and I don't think he unvoted. Strange. I guess that ruins my theory of the tests.

I thought if you didn't "pass" the test you got an extra 3 votes. But now....

He did not to my recollection. I am pretty sure at least one other may have done so improperly and there were no changes to the vote, so my assumption about the tests seems to be wrong. Unless the button pushing interfered with the regular testing somehow.

Looks like all 4 of the Day 1 voters for The Jackal voted him again Day 2 (myself included). I'm OK with looking at this as a potential pool to pick from. But equally important to me are the late movers that perhaps steered a vote clear of the other Candidate.

Sorry I wasn't able to post anything this evening. I wa strying to keep an eye on things but visiting as well.

Now at least we have some voting history we can look at. Iknow someone said they were going to look at dobule Jackal voters, and I'll come right out and say I should be in taht category as I tried to vote Jackal yesterday but couldn't unvote. I didn't do it for any reason other than D1 reasons, and voted him again today for no reason. I don't think there's any reason to vote anyone d2 of a 20 person game, and I just put in a vote.

Please Proceed to the Next Test Chamber through the Particle Dispersement Field.

You walk toward the exit careful not to step off the side down into the water below.

Wait. Where is everybody? All of you are not here.

You look back and see Zinto flailing in the water below. It is as if the water were both electric and poison at the same time. Soon he stops moving. You look around then up at the computer wondering if this was a test.

Congratulations. You have now experienced Death. Unfortunately this was an unplanned test. Someone must have pushed him in.

Where Zinto stood was a cube which he was carrying. It is smaller than the cubes that crushed Jackal. It has racing stripes and an flames on the side and had the ability to change the vote if you throw it at someone. You scoop it up and proceed to the next room but it vaporizes as you pass through the field.
Zinto was a normal Tester who had a Duke Cube.

For sanity's sake, from now on all Day and Voting actions are still due at the same time as usual. 10 PM EST / 7 PM PST.

All night actions are due one hour later at 11 PM EST / 8 PM PST.

Do not let this prevent you from sending in night actions early however.

Good Morning and welcome to day 4. For this next test enjoy some weighted storage cubes. Due to the excellent nature of The Jackal's testing ability, weighted storage cubes will not be dropped on top of you. Another hypercolliding button has been ordered for tomorrow and will appear tomorrow at exactly........*FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT*

I suppose Zinto's button sacrifice was the game's night action, so to speak, and the night kills will start happening tomorrow?

Well, just in case there was doubt about roles being out there already.

Might as well try to ascertain if Zinto said something role-ish early to make him the target, rather than it being a "dumb luck" deal hitting a roled villager.

Ah, that's right - he pushed the button. I'm wondering if that made him a target for the night kill, rather than the button dooming him to his death and there being no night kill.

I think pushing the button caused CF to give us up to date vote counts, nothing more. Just my opinion

That sounds likely- when he pushed the button something dropped and he was in possession of a Duke Cube when he got killed. Don't think that was a coincidence.

Yeah, that. Huge coincidence that he happened to be the Duke and the one who pushed the button. More likely the wolves read into the writeup and figured if nothing else he had something cool on him.

If that's true, it strongly suggests to me that traditional WW roles might not be in the game from the start and we "earn" them based on our actions in game.

Wouldnt that make it ridiculously easy for the wolves to kill roled players? They just night kill whoever does an action

Man, I just got back from the longest hike of my life. Looks like some fun stuff happened while I was out. Glad I didn't have a chance to hit the button, because I would have jumped all over it as well. But then again, maybe it wouldn't have mattered if there are werewolves killing our testing pals.

It's on like Lemon Chiffon.

Yeah, this is a good point. Maybe minor powers can be earned, or maybe not all powers earned will be announced in thread. Or maybe Zinto just got unlucky that he pushed the button and happened to be the duke. I think that's a stretch and a coincidence though.

Not a fantastic set of results all in all then.

Colour me unsurprised that not unvoting didn't appear to have any adverse effects. Yeah, that's me saying "I told you so". I guess I'd better look at the voting pattern from day two - although Chubby's replacement and removal from the running made the whole thing a two-horse race rather earlier than I would have liked.

Good point. But I still think it's what happened. Perhaps the button presser won't always get the box, or perhaps the box will be a defensive ability next time, or as others have mentioned, roles can be gotten in other ways.

Still not sure what to make of day one.

1) There were wolves but they didn't get a kill on night one or got a conversion or were blocked. The vote tie resulted in a no-lynch.
2) We were all-vanila and the day somehow determined who became wolves/roled.
3) We were all-vanilla and Crimson was having a laugh.

1 or 2 means there is some value in considering the events of day one. 3 means Crimson is going to be lynched day one of the next game.

Regarding Zinto I'm leaning to him getting the DukeCube from the button push and Crimson hoping that the wolves wouldn't pay attention to it. I don't necessarily think that there being a DukeCube means that any potential roles will get their powers in the same way.

So there are some obvious directions to look today.

1) Raiders Army to find out if we were villager-wolf or villager-villager yesterday.
2) Day one and day two Jackal voters.
3) Bhlloy for his vote switch.
4) Marc Vaughan for not having a vote either day.

1) I'm not a huge fan of lynching the #2 candidate - I think it can lead you up a big blind alley. There's also the risk that the seer has scanned him leading to a wasted scan or, worse, the seer involuntarily revealing himself to protect him if he's a villager/out him if he's a wolf.

2) Given the uncertainty of the value of day one, particularly in terms of pure voting patterns I don't really see much in the way of logic of concentrating on the four who voted Jackal day one.

3) Don't see a huge amount of point chasing Bhlloy at this stage. If Raiders is a villager then the vote switch earns Bhlloy a decent portion of trust. If Raiders is a wolf then it seems like a very ballsy move for Bhlloy to make as a wolf. Something to bear in mind but not something to chase today I don't think.

4) Yeah, missing two votes isn't great. Particularly when combined with a self-vote, self-unvote combo. Meta-gamery tells me that MV is more likely to be a villager than not but I would like to be able to prod him into action. And a vote that actually sticks.

Vote Marc Vaughan

I suspect that to be true. I also don't agree with the idea that pressing the button gave him a role because, like DV said, it would be like announcing all the villagers roles to the wolves which seems rather unfair. Of course, that still leaves me with, "What does pushing the button actually do?", but I don't have a clue other than what Zinto mentioned about how they work in Portal.
