This Pinterest thing is getting out of hand. It's taking over our board all of the sudden.

(I say this as a husband of someone who has her own Pinterest account.)

Don Cherry is my favorite xenophobe.

He's spent the majority of Coach's Corner tonight slamming the Leafs for being the only team in the NHL without a player from Ontario. Slamming that Burke likes to sign American college players, etc, etc.

Probably his best rant of the season thus far. He followed it up with a nice montage of every Ontario born player who scored a goal today.

Curious if he has mixed feelings about the actor portraying him in the 2nd part of his life story

The Wrath of Grapes

Keeso, the 27-year-old originally from the small town of Listowel, Ont. who now lives in Vancouver, returns for the sequel, Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story II, the two-part film that airs Sunday (March 4) and March 11 on CBC. Postmedia News sat down on Tuesday for a Q&A session with the former junior B hockey player to talk all things Don Cherry, hockey and acting.

Erik Johnson is TERRIBLE. I know he missed a season with a knee injury, but good God did the Penguins make him look terrible. He finished a -4, and earned every bit of that.

Crazyness in the OHL today as Erie loses its only healthy goalie two minutes into the game after he was run and Erie is forced to dress a center who ends up giving up 13 goals on 45 shots.

The reason Erie only had one goalie was because last night their #1 got hurt and they didn't have the time to get a healthy body in there.

He was named the first star too.

Their affiliate goalies were playing in Midget/Junior C playoffs, so the GM told them to stay with their playoff teams.

truly, he was dreadful in that game. However, that was a bit of an aberration. He's actually been playing some good hockey lately. But when he gets off his game...wow, it's not pretty

Good win again for the Ducks last night. Not sure if they still have the most points in the NHL since January 1, but I am sure they are up near the leaders.

Then I sober up to their reality when I see that, despite that consistently strong play, they are still 7 points behind 8th, and the 8th place team has three game in hand on them. And they are 10 points behind 7th (which also has a game in hand on them).

Still very frustrated at how this team tanked for 2-3 months before starting to play for real.

The entire 1st period was at an amazing pace. In fact, most of the game was. I knew we would lose if it kept going that way.

Jets are a fun team to watch. If Sabres do not get in, the Jets will have my support for the Playoffs.

Not sure what to make of this one

Voracek's head is down, after fumbling the puck, he looks back for it. But, no doubt the principal point of contact is the head.

Not that it would have mattered much in this situation -- the way Voracek was leaning forward, his head was way out in front -- but never understood Kronwall's need to turn, and back into a hit.

The refs have to blow the whistle to stop play on that. When someone goes down and their arms are stiff like that it means they are momentarily out cold.

Sharks in the middle of an awful skid, have the 2nd worst team in the league coming into their own building...and they give up a goal 10 seconds in. I don't know what the hell is wrong with this team, but they need to start cleaning it up fast.

No leadership. Thornton and Marleau couldn't share a captaincy and be effective at it.

No suspension or fine for Kronwall's hit on Voracek.

This is mediocre goaltending, inconsistent defense and piss-poor luck. Niemi's barely above .900 since this skid started in mid-January and their shooting percentage is something like 5.1% despite having similar amounts of puck possession, scoring chances and shots as they have all season. The NHL average for shooting % is about 8%. Fix the defense by shooting Colin White into the Bay and stop skating Vandermeer as a farking forward.

Thanks!

A bit sad that neither Bunz or Roy rank in their top 10, may need to turn a few guys from this list into a more top of the line prospect goalie it seems.

Also a bit surprising to see Teubert ahead of Marincin and Gernat.

I've noticed two trends over the years -

1) picks from most recent draft typically ranked higher than someone in the system 2-3 seasons

2) in nearly a reverse of #1, guys who started high (the year after their draft) and slid down the list, typically do not ever completely drop off the list

Teubert, though traded, fits that. Same in Pittsburgh, Eric Tangradi remains #5 on their list after showing very little for 2 straight seasons when getting NHL time.
