Continental League #1 Rookie Named
Wednesday, November 17th, 2162: The top Continental League rookie in 2162 was Napa Valley third baseman Luis Moreno. He's the latest winner of the Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

During his first year in the league, the 24-year-old Moreno hit .283 with 170 hits, 39 home runs, 107 RBIs and 94 runs scored. He also walked 34 times on his way to a .337 on-base percentage.


Hammersmith First Baseman Voted Best RL Rookie
Wednesday, November 17th, 2162: The Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award winner for 2162 is Manuel Torres of the Hammersmith Hooligans.

This season the 26-year-old first baseman played in 145 games, recording a .309 batting average with 31 home runs, 92 RBIs and 90 runs scored.

Gingras Triumphs in Gabriel Prado Award Voting
Friday, November 19th, 2162: The Continental League announced today that Gilbert Gingras has been chosen the Gabriel Prado Award winner for 2162. The Baltimore starter had everything working for him this past season as he soared to a 18-5 record.

In his exceptional season Gingras chalked up a 2.75 ERA in 209.1 innings with 179 strikeouts and 30 walks. Enemy teams hit .229 against him in his 33 starts.


Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Rancheros Oprel
Friday, November 19th, 2162: An old hand in this game, Reginald Oprel of the Colorado Rancheros silenced critics as well as he silenced the opposition this year by winning the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award.

The 35-year-old starter threw 247 innings, notched 188 strikeouts and put up a 20-9 record to claim the coveted award.

Super Season, Ramos Wins Hideaki Tanaka Award
Saturday, November 20th, 2162: It was a pay-raising season for Baltimore's first baseman. Regardless of where Jesús Ramos signs on next year, this 2162 Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award will be considered a marquee pickup.

He excelled with 183 hits, 41 doubles, 2 triples, 40 home runs and 109 RBIs while compiling a .327 batting average.

Saturday, November 20th, 2162: What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2162 Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Republic League. It had already been a very special season for Los Angeles's John Sawyer, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.

All season long John Sawyer gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .314 as he collected 193 hits, 47 doubles, 2 triples, 26 home runs and 108 RBIs.
