Also... how about someone finds a chin strap for Ryan Miller?

What a horrible give away that lead to the breakaway.

After Coburn's giveaway that led to the first Buffalo goal, I'd say they're even.

It Grags. Guy has just been horrible, horrible this year.

Something needs to change. This team cannot lock down leads and just cannot show up at home.

I felt slightly bad for Grangani. I've got a soft spot for a lot of the Buffalo goes who have come up from Portland since I go to probably 15-20 of their games every year. I can't wait for the day when Enroth becomes a #1 somewhere.

Not sure which part I like best. The "using him as a speed bag" while Campbell is swinging at air, or the "big left" by Vitale at the end.
My favorite is definitely the "big left." I'm dying here. BTW, let me embed that for you.

To Edwards' defense...your boy Steigy said the same thing about Vitale dropping him with a BIG LEFT at the end.

What am I doing wrong? I'm pulling code directly from YT and pasting

Maybe I need to do a poll thread, posting both Steigy and Edwards' highlight moments. Once I figure out what I am doing wrong with YT links.

When you're on Youtube, there should be a Share button under the video. Click it. A link will pop up. To the right of that is an Embed button. Click that and a larger box will appear underneath (you'll see frame, height, width)...copy all that and paste here.

I am using the embed code and copy/paste here. I know there is now an old and new code, does that matter at all?

I have the same issue as SR. I've never been able to embed a youtube video here.

I followed these exact instructions and still get the error message.

Are you guys trying to embed in the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the thread? That has never worked for me. I end up clicking the "Go Advanced" button and pasting into that.

Thanks for the advice, Pumpy. I tried it and it still didn't seem to work.

I wonder if it has to do with the "theme" or "style" or whatever the hell you call it that I am running for this board.

I just tried to change styles and still no luck.

It's a shame. All y'all would benefit from all the kick-ass and funny shit I come across but don't post because I can't embed.

A sad day for FOFC.

So, the Canes managed to dump that horrible Kaberle contract by shipping him to Montreal for Spacek.

Why does Montreal love taking on bad contracts in trades?

There was a bit of a "to do" in the Rangers/Lightning game when Anisimov pretended that his stick was a rifle and "shot" Garon after scoring a short handed goal. This sent the Lightning players into a tizzy and resulted with Steve Downie leaving the bench, in a way, and getting involved.

I really have no problem with Anisimov's antics or Tampa's response, save Downie leaving the bench. That's pretty stupid and he'll get suspended for it, but that's Steve Downie for you.

While I don't have a problem with what he did, not sure if the NHL can say it's any different than Nick Boynton or Andre Roy doing the throat slash motion. Sure, Anisimov's was in celebration, as opposed to in anger, but not sure how I see those as different.

I am expecting the NHL treat these with absolute consistency

I think the difference, celebration vs. anger, is actually a pretty significant difference. The throat slash motion is a threat, the stick as gun thing really has no threat or menace behind it.

Welp, can't blame Kaberle anymore for rotten play, which the Canes promptly got back to in Winnipeg tonight. Spacek actually acquitted himself well (assisted on both goals), but Skinner was out of action tonight and it became painfully obvious that without him, this team is horrible on offense.

On the plus side, at least on the Hurricanes feed of the game, whenever they showed Kirk Muller or the Canes bench, there were a couple of Jets fans directly behind the glass that served as a pleasant distraction between whistles. I'm trying to decide whether Muller got put on screen more often as a result.

So doing your best Adam Graves impersonation is "manning up"? Or maybe Giroux needs to face him then and settle it...you know, man up.

It's hockey, lots of guys get chippy. Malkin's a hothead, no argument there. That was dumb and he's lucky he didn't connect.

Bobby Clarke is a hero for doing that shit twice a shift.

Is Zac Rinaldo a douche too then for what is arguably a blindside headshot?

Zac Rinaldo is a douche. I'm not going to argue that. I'd rather he not be on the team, but he does do a fantastic job (better than anyone in the NHL last I checked) at drawing penalties.

Didn't he do something dumb/questionable in the preseason?

Wonder who leads the league as far as penalties drawn less penalties committed?

Law of averages...had to come back a little at some point, no?

Of all the teams in the league now, the one I can least figure out is Florida, who beat Boston the other night. I look at that roster and see a bunch of guys who are solid but not great players.

Sestito was suspended for a hit in pre-season, hasn't been called back up since and has degenerated in the AHL pretty badly. The only thing I can think of that Rinaldo did this year was his hit against the hit against Doughty that was clean, but a lot of people thought otherwise. Unfortunately his reputation precedes him and it shows with the refs. He gets called for a lot of ticky-tack penalties because he's a very exuberant player.

I mean, let's be honest, Ovechkin should be penalized on just about every check he throws for leaving his feet.

I must be thinking Sestito. I knew someone was in that initial rush of Shanabans with Wisniewski and others.

Edit to add: There are things I see every single game that blow my mind that are never called. Every forward who is first in the forecheck hooks the defenseman coming from behind the net on the breakout. Is it terrible? No. But it's a hook.

Uncle Gary conspiracy theorists will be out in full force.

Pens-Isles, Travis Hamonic gets 5 + game for an elbow call. Replays show it's actually Orpik's own stick that catches his face.

Same team and building last year Letang got tossed after a shoulder to shoulder hit caused Blake Comeau's helmet to come off.

Whispers that Giroux may have suffered a concussion at the end of the second period after taking Wayne Simmonds' knee to the back of his head.

Giroux is not on the bench to start the third.

Claude Giroux is out indefinitely with a concussion. I am sad.

Figured this is probably the right thread for this...

I drew my brother for our family's secret Santa this year. The ONLY sport he's into is hockey. I am all for supporting his sporting interests, so I thought I'd try to find some seats on the glass for him at a Sharks game. My question: are seats on the glass worth it? I've never been that close myself, and I'd imagine that the view actually isn't all that great. Would I be better served looking for seats a few rows back?

If he's one of those idiots who will stay up and turn around to wave when the puck is at his end of the ice, and he knows he'll be on camera, please do not get the seats right on the glass.

Honest answer: Seats on the glass are a cool novelty to be close to the action. That lasts about 1 period. If he's a serious fan, he'd much rather be back further/higher to actually see gameplay develop.
