We jumped on Fresno State early and often! We held them to negative yardage through the 1st quarter as we jumped to an early 28-0 lead. Thurman had an uncharacteristic game in which he tried to force it to his teammate of 4 years, TE DeMetrius Taylor . That cost him 2 early picks and he threw a 3rd later when he tried to air it out and underthrew it. Those 3 picks I suspect will end his slim chances of catching Whaley in the Heisman race, although Thurman tried his best to make up for it with multiple rushing TD's this game. Thurman also set the USC mark for most yards in a season this game.

The main drama late was if we could hold the shutout. We had knocked their QB out of the game (and ended his season) and we looked in good shape until we fumbled it inside our own 20 giving them a short field. However, Hale had his 3rd pick of the game to help end that short drive and we secured the shutout win over Fresno State.

We had several big recruits there who I think were very impressed with our team.

No problem. I just wanted to be sure you weren't waiting for Greg to weigh in. I don't think he's checking these threads anymore.

We added a 5 star TE that we are very excited about who should be ready to contribute his freshman year. We are in a good position to close out with a good class. We are set to advance.

Got a commitment from my top rated defensive player -- an 80-rated DT -- and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I'm growing to like this new recruiting system. It was too easy in past games to end up with 18+ very talented guys each year. I should have 11-14 recruits who will come in at >=75 and will be significant contributors during their time at Duke. That will improve a little bit as the coaching benefits to recruiting improve; but it still seems like it will top out at a more realistic number than in the past.

It is also nice that recruiting online has become not only feasible, but preferred for any aspect other than searching for new recruits. No more lost phone calls.

Duke is done for the week and ready to advance.

I still hate whatever is allowing my QB to be sacked by 3 and 4 man rushes, even on quick slant routes. Greg's D on autopilot sacked me 8 times and got a pick 6 on a wounded duck my QB threw while being hit. At least the latter happened on a blitz.

Since I am the only one having this problem, I am going to chalk it up to something weird that happened when my team was imported. Hopefully whatever stat deficiency they have will be improved in the offseason and as new guys are added to the line.

Can't believe FAU jumped us in the rankings, man. Nothing against FAU, but that schedule... I think we played between 8 and 10 ranked teams this year and only lost once by 2 points. Not sure what the coaches and media are seeing..

I WANT A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!! haha.

If we beat USC, we better jump into the top 2. Especially since USC is our only loss.

Yeah, I guess that would be fair. My passion for revenge is growing by the minute.. Duke derailed my title run, and they must pay. Making them pay is a different story though.

We're going to derail your BCS bowl hopes, too. Beating UTSA is what we do.

What is your work schedule like next Monday or Tuesday night?

Should crack the top ten. My offense had 3 players rush for over 100 yards and my backup RB picked up player of the game honors with 3 TDs and over 100 yards.

Kodos and I just had a really great classic game. Both offenses were on fire in the 1st half as both of us ran our QB's very effectively. Almost no stops as we were tied 21-21 at the end of the half. In the 2nd half, we both made adjustments although Kodos went ahead first to take a 28-21 lead. But, we finally figured out some defenses that could slow down his QB and we got some stops and took a 31-28 lead on a FG with about 4 minutes to go. Kodos marched down the field again, but we managed to make a huge stop on 4th and 7. With over a minute left and Kodos having 2 timeouts, I was trying to figure out how to get the 1 first down I needed to ice the game. Thurman had a huge run on 3rd and 12 (I think, I can't remember exactly) in which he broke a tackle and managed to pick up that 1st down to seal the deal. It was an incredibly exciting game ended by that very exciting play which allowed us to take a knee to end the game.

Yep. He broke a tackle that would have forced you to punt it back to us. (I saved the highlight on the EA site.) Our clock-chewing, game-winning drive sadly stalled short of the endzone. We had a great chance to steal the win, but you made a couple more plays than we did. Heartbreaking loss for Hoosiers everywhere.

I'll try that. Is pushing in the right stick how you throw-the-ball away?

Still replaying the game in my head and thinking about turning points. This could have been a championship season... There were a couple times where I passed on long field goals because I'm not confident in my FG kicking skill.

I have a feeling our game with Duke will be a real brawl tonight too. I am just hoping I am focused and rested so I can function at the level I need to. I find that I play a lot worse on less sleep.

Yes, push in the right stick to throw it away. There were a few times I tried to do that and was a bit too late. Thought for sure one of them was going to lead to a critical fumble but it was just a routine sack.

I also don't trust my kicker for long kicks. I was scared even on that final kick to be honest and that was a nice short field goal.

I find that kicking in the college game is quite a bit harder than in Madden, if only because the hash marks are so wide. Part of me thinks that spreading the hash marks in the real NFL might lead to a decrease in accuracy as well.

Hooo dog, that was a stressful game, but we got our revenge.

We jumped out early after both teams traded picks deep in opposing territory, and led 14-0 before letting Duke come right back and tie it at 14. We managed one last scoring drive before half time to go up 21-14 with 8 seconds left, and nearly let Duke return the kickoff for 6. Fortunately our guys got their return man down and then the last second half time hail mary fell short even though it was caught.

In the second half, I got frustrated with our coverage on defense and just decided to put my fastest corner and LB in the game to try and get better coverage. I think that made the difference late, because even though we still gave up a ton of yards, the Duke efficiency from our prior loss was mitigated enough that we could actually get off the field. The coverage improved, which allowed our pass rush to get home, and our offense was excellent all game long aside from two interceptions. We even got a huge kick return TD from our stud return man Robert Burley, which might have been the biggest play of the game for us. I missed a FG late that would have given us a 41-24 lead, which just about made me throw my controller through the laptop screen in front of me, but we ended up getting a stop anyway and finished with a couple kneeldowns.

One hell of a battle against a strong opponent, I friggin hate that TE Duke has, Alvarez. Not looking forward to seeing him next season.

Great game chesapeake.. My palms are still sweaty. See you next season.
