Che has only hit 2 Homers this month and his pace has fallen off a little bit, now on course for 57 this season. With 2 more Home Runs however, Che will pass Gil and Bates and move into 2nd all time for single season home runs.

Tuesday, September 13th, 2033: 3 Bombs for Frank Dawson
Frank Dawson, the Chico first baseman, put on a dazzling display of power today at Rebels Ballpark against the Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines. In the 17-5 victory Dawson penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single day efforts.

What a display it was -- three home runs, 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. It certainly was a day for the league record books.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," the Ann Arbor manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so good."

Talking about his theory of hitting after the game, Dawson said, "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come and when it does, be prepared to run the bases... or trot around the bases... like I did today."

So says the latest person to hit three homers in a game.

F. Dawson grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off R. Conner in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off M. Bowness in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off J. Cleveland in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.

So far this season Dawson is batting .358 with 30 home runs.

At only 27 he'll be a serious threat to the all-time record barring rapid decline. The bigger question is how the hell an Australian got the name Cong Che.

Don't look now, but Juan Sierra is only 3 wins away from tying Billy Smith and Emmett Quero for the all time record at 353!! He only has one more scheduled start for this season however, so this will likely be the big news story for 2034!

Sunday, September 18th, 2033: 350 Victories for Sierra
Juan Sierra of the New York Heroes will go down as one of the league's legendary pitchers after his 10-5 win today against the Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines.

"It felt like it was a postseason game, one out at a time," said his manager. "It was something special to see."

The 35-year-old Sierra picked up his 350th career victory at New York Grounds. He hurled 6.2 innings, gave up 9 hits and registered 5 strikeouts along with 1 walk.

"I've worked a long time for this," Sierra said. "I can't believe it's really here. It feels great!"

Lifetime Sierra has compiled a 350-141 record with a 2.57 ERA in 636 starts.

That guy's not only gonna break the record, but leave it so far behind nobody's gonna be able to sniff it. As much as I hate to say it, when he retires we should seriously look into renaming the pitching award.

Saturday, September 24th, 2033: 200 Victories for Edmonton's Browne
Edmonton's Kieran Browne took the hill at Edge Ballpark today in search of his 200th career win.
The 34-year-old ace found it against the Napa Valley Winemakers.

After the historic victory, his manager told reporters, "I saw a tremendous sigh of relief when this thing was over. He was just looking to hug everyone in sight."

He worked 8 innings with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 8-0 victory, checking Napa Valley on 5 hits.

"It a big milestone in my career," admitted Browne. "When you get close to it, you worry about it a lot. It's done now... and I can relax and enjoy it."

In his career, Browne has crafted a 200-157 mark with a 3.61 ERA and tossed 3214 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .252 against him and he has 2871 strikeouts.

I hadn't looked at the players changing hands that closely until now, so yeah, not sure what was up 5 seasons back. Just looking at where everyone is at now it sure would be nice to see Che as a Harpooner.

I wish i had him as well. Its a trade i wish i had done different for sure. I don't regret it though either. Goff was a pleasure to have.

Ill also say that Goff at that point was still a darn good pitcher. The 3 previous years in Baltimore show that. He never did reproduce those kind of stats in Hartford but I would have made that deal in Hartfords shoes as well.

Whittham was also part of that deal so at that point it looked like Hartford was going to kill me in that deal. Hyde chose not to keep Whittham but if he would have, that deal is closer than it looks.
