Best Defensive Player You Ever had

So I currently have the best defensive player I've ever had, statistically, with the Kansas City Chiefs in that dynasty. In his first four years, SLB Randall Flemming has gotten Defensive Player of teh Year all four years, and led the league in things like sacks or picks. Dude is the best player at 92/92 and a force of footballing nature.

Who's your best ever?

This is Flemming in 4 years, 26 years old:

The Flemming Watch –

4 time Defensive Player of the Year:

445 solo tack, 109 assists
48.5 sacks, 8 blocked passes, 34 hurries, 69 QBKD
16 FF, 2 Rec, 1 FR TD
17 picks, 2 INT RET TD, 52 pasdef

He just finished leading the league in Pasdef this year with 17, and was 3rd with 5 picks. Last year he led all players by 7 sacks for most sacks int eh league, and led all players with 8 FF. In his first year, his 6 picks led the league.

5th year:

5 Year Defensive Player of the Year:

536 solo tackles, 134 assists
60.5 sacks, 11 blocks, 49 hurries, 88 QBKD
22 Ints, 3 INT TD, 63 pasdef
18 FF, 5 Fum Rec, 1 FR TD

Had a defensive end get 8.5 sacks in one game. Ended with 102.5 sacks and first ballot HOF. Drafted him at 21 and he was on my team for career

I don't think I've ever managed to have a defensive player get 100 sacks. That's one of the Steam achievements I'm not sure I'll ever get. I tend to want everyone on my defense to have some pass rushing ability and I believe that tends to deflate individual performance to some degree. Maybe.

Yeah, would looooooove a screenshot of that guy's bars or ratings.

Here's mine, from my dynasty:

This is after year 4

He's such a hoss that in year 5 he breaks his hand, and is only knocks him probable for 1 week

Edit - statline after 6th year:

The Flemming Watch:

6 time Defensive Player of the Year

663 solo tack, 157 assists
76.5 sacks, 14 blocks, 59 hurries, 109 QBKD
24 Ints, 3 INT RET TD, 76 pasdef
21 FF, 1 FR TD, 5 FumRec,

It’s like every single statline of Randall Flemming is a mic drop.

For me, one of the strategies is to line up folks on different sides of the ball, both competent, that force my foes to single team the heat somewhere.

Here's my current defense,e front seven and a pic of Flemming at the end of his year 6. Note the stud LB Jacobs at WLB, NT, and DEs. All of those are nasty. We have LBs in the middle to grade off blockers and plugup the middle, and backups I drafted that are strong on the D Line, rotate in, and keep up the constant pressure.

With that kind of constant pressure, you can dominate with a player like Flemming, who can't be contained. And the same is true of, say, two DEs on the 4-3 and such.

When the football gods bequeath such talent on me, I do everything I can to ensure it works. So I have spent, drafted, and focused on this defense beyond anything. And I think, you can see the results there.

Also, don't forget the power of a strong Punter for a defense in positioning them. Anyways, those are just my own musings.

Not sure this guy fulfills the exact title specs, but I confess I am fascinated by his productivity:

Glenn Aquadro, Baltimore DE, CCFL

This is in a very competitive MP FOF 8 league, which started with an allocation draft. He was my 5th round pick (after two wide receivers, then two cornerbacks). He's always had a 100 PR Tech, I think, and his results have been pretty exceptional. I have no idea why he was willing to re-up for only $7m/season as a RFA last year - but I'm damned glad he was. We would have paid three times that much.

Wow man... What a nightmare for opposing QBs

Back in FOF7 SP I had a standout middle linebacker, probably not the greatest ever but certainly a hall of fame caliber guy. I remember looking through the lists and seeing the name Sting Ray Butts and knowing immediately that I would be building my entire defense around him. Lucky for me, his play was almost as good as his name.

I don't think I've ever had a player on one of my teams break the 200-sack barrier, but this guy just did.

The fact he never missed a game is remarkable...unless injuries were turned off.

Ben often says in his SP careers he quick sims the season and has injuries off, so every chance that’s the case.
