Backbreaker: Vengeance finally out on PS3 in the UK

After a lengthy, unexplained delay, Backbreaker: Vengeance finally arrived in the PAL region Playstation 3 Store yesterday, as confirmed by the official Backbreaker Facebook page.

The PAL region PS3 version of Backbreaker: Vengeance was originally planned for a simultaneous release with the Xbox 360 version of the game, which Operation Sports reviewed in July.

Currently, there are no plans to bring Backbreaker: Vengeance to American PS3 owners.

Played the demo a lot last night. It is a blast. I wonder if they will release it in NA around the start of the NFL season. I don't see why they wouldn't.

EDIT: I really like the improvements they have made since BB.

They couldn't come to terms with SCEA to release it in the US.

For any who might still be interested, the last couple days they've given away 5 codes per day to people answering really simple questions like 'whats it called when a ball carrier enters the opposing endzone' (touchdown).

I just got to play the demo myself. The game sure has cleaned up a lot more. Looks like what the first game probably should have looked like. Controls are much tighter too, though I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of them yet. Or at least, the configuration of the face buttons themselves (I would always press Triangle to jump, then slide right into a vault pad ).

This would certainly be nice as a full game, though. I sure hope there are plans to come out with one in the future!

Finally gave this game a shot tonight after creating a UK PSN account. OH MY WORD! LOVE IT! This is how Backbreaker should've been when it first released. Love the player movement. Love the controls (much better spinning controls for sure). Still has the awesome lighting I loved in the full game release. I'm in football heaven right now.

if this second game arrived with better physics than BB # 1-then "Vengance" is
BB # 2...so then the next game would be actually be BB # 3. ...

Yes, the physics, movement, controls and camera were all massively improved for Vengeance. It's as real as video game football gets.

Unfortunately, Natural Motion only makes cell phone games now and has no interest in making another football game. I understand they had to do the move to survive financially, but it's a shame there wasn't enough of a market to support more Backbreaker games. The engine upgrades they made for Vengeance were superb.
