Re: Sunrise in San Diego- Executive Decisions

Personally, I would keep Halladay and have a rotation of:

Felix
Verlander
Halladay
Hanson
Medlen

Halladay, even getting up there in age, can still strike fear into hitters. That rotation right there... would hurt to look at IRL

Trade Lee. Go for Aaron Sanchez AND Noah Syndergaard from TOR.

You'll thank me later.

(Wait, why am I ripping off TOR here? Meh, at least we get Lee)

That's a good point. Halladay would be a tough sell because of the contract. But I can't forget about Joe Wieland who will be coming back from Tommy John within the opening months of the season. Then not to mention, we have guys like Max Fried, Ayds Portillo, Chris Dwyer and Casey Kelly waiting in the wings.

I'll admit, any Halladay decision is going to be a tough one. If none of these prospects perform and give us stability in the rotation, we're in huge trouble.

Thanks for the input!

Wow, that's a pretty nice offer. We'd be getting the legit pitching prospects we'd need. A trade to the AL East would be extremely beneficial to us. We would never have to see him again and that's exactly what we want. Cliff Lee will not be dealt to a National League team.

A Tornoto trade could theoretically happen as they are one of the only teams that posses a lot of good prospects. However, we would have to have a bat or 2. I'm not afraid to make this a mega deal with something like 12 players being involved. My minor leagues are clogged too with good prospects so sending some to Toronto would be no big deal.

PM me if you have any suggestions.

You could always use one of those guys as the #5 (Wieland probably) and move Medlen to the pen as he has been a reliever sometimes. Then if Wieland does as well as he did before TJ surgery, you could have a rotation where all five men are dominant all season. As for the prospects, you could keep Kelly as your closer, and either put the other two in the minors or deal them in the Lee or Pence deals.

My mind was sufficiently blown by that free agency.

Holy Big Red Machine. That's a scary Playoff team.

Great work here. Really good read.

Jacob Anderson, go after him, holy crap. Kid's amazing.

Sanchez/Gose or Marisnick/Anderson?
