Re: Welcome to the Dark Side - Chicago White Sox

If someone would be so kind, I need one of you to PM me a number between 1-30.

I am selecting Adolfo Marte's free agent signing, and will be using that number to decide his team.

Thanks!

Good thread mate.

Question, how do you do the 'fake' twitter? I used to know how to do it--but can't remember the site!

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side - Chicago White Sox

Series #6

(9-7) @ (7-8)

Game 1:
Chicago jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second inning, but any ideas of a blowout were never to be. The Indians made it a ballgame, but still ended up falling 5-4. Eight of the nine White Sox in the lineup recorded a hit.

Game 2:
Cory Leubke injured his back in warmups, forcing Carlos Rodon back into the rotation on short notice. He wasn't pretty, but kept the team in striking distance after allowing four runs in six innings. The Indians ran into bullpen issues, deciding against using Andrew Miller or Cody Allen with a late lead. Chicago would go on to score four times in their final two innings, earning win number four in a row.

Game 3:
The Indians would avoid the sweep in powerful fashion, collecting eighteen hits this afternoon. Edwin Encarnacion led the way with three hits, including a homer and three RBI. Francisco Lindor keeps his average above .400 with two extra base hits. James Shields had an unwelcome return from the DL. The righty was pulled in the fourth inning, and fell to 0-2 in just four innings of work this year.

Series 7 Preview
Kansas City Royals (5-13) @ Chicago White Sox (9-9)

Game 1: Nate Karns (0-1, 2.76) vs. Derek Holland (1-0, 4.86)
Game 2: Mike Minor (0-1, 2.57) vs. Jose Quintana (3-1, 1.86)
Game 3: Danny Duffy (1-2, 5.57) vs. Miguel Gonzalez (1-1, 3.20)

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side - Chicago White Sox

Series #7

(5-14) @ (9-9)

Game 1:
The lowly Royals came to town for a three game series, giving the White Sox a great opportunity to jump over .500 early in the season. Chicago had no answer for Lorenzo Cain tonight, as the veteran went 2/4 with a homer and three RBI. Derek Holland had no control all night, and was pulled in the fourth inning with five walks allowed.

Game 2:
With a tired bullpen, the White Sox found themselves in the worst case scenario in the second game of the series. Jose Quintana got the team into the eighth inning, but the game wandered into extra innings. Fearing a lengthy night, Rick Renteria chose to stretch Nate Jones out a third inning. It didn't go well, as the Royals scored quickly in the tenth inning, taking their second win in a row.

Game 3:
An embarrassing sweep, the Royals held Chicago to two runs in all three games of the series. Thanks to Salvador Perez and Eric Hosmer's long balls, Miguel Gonzalez had his worst start of the year.

Series 8 Preview
Chicago White Sox (9-12) @ Detroit Tigers (13-9)

Game 1: Cory Luebke (2-1, 2.33) vs. Daniel Norris (2-0, 0.89)
Game 2: James Shields (0-2, 13.50) vs. Matt Boyd (2-2, 4.43)
Game 3: Derek Holland (1-1, 5.31) vs. Shane Greene (2-1, 2.82)

Transactions
  • Placed SS Tim Anderson (Fractured Foot) on 60 Day DL
  • Recalled 3B Matt Davidson from AAA Charlotte
