Pirates Start Season Off On the Wrong Foot

Pittsburgh gets swept in three games by Boston as offense and pitching nonexistent. Lose game 1 by a score of 1-4, game 2 by a score of 0-5, and game 3 by a score of 0-13. Boston looks every bit the dominant team they are supposed to be, whereas, Pittsburgh looks to be in trouble to start the season.

"We played on the road in Boston against a good, if not great, Red Sox team. Of course it is frustrating to see the team struggle to get going offensive and to have decent pitching, but, we now head home to PNC Park for six games. Three against the Braves and three against the Reds. The Braves currently sit with a 2-1 record and the Reds with an 0-3 record. So, hopefully we can turn our fortunes around some at home in front of the home crowd and finally give them something to cheer for."-Pirates' Manager Clint Hurdle
