Now is boxings best comeback

Recently I've been watching plenty of boxing, both older and newer fights.

As a fan I believe now would be the best time to reignite the boxing franchise as the sport is gaining more popularity. Some of boxings best names are still fighting and that's not even mentioning the older legends who could also be included to remake some of the most epic boxing games. Of course EA reigns as the most likely option, if any, to create a boxing a game but nevertheless anyone who can complete the job will likely have a hit on their hands. Imagine these fights on the newest, most improved graphics:
  • Deontay Wilder
  • Anthony Joshua
  • Vitali & Wladimir Klitscho
  • Floyd Mayweather
  • Potentially, Conor McGregor
  • GGG
  • Canelo Alvarez
  • Amir Khan
  • Tyson Fury

or legends
  • Lennox Lewis
  • Mike Tyson
  • Muhammad Ali
  • Evander Holyfield
  • Manny Pacquiao

Thoughts?

Real athletes add a ton to any sports game, but I'm so hungry for a new boxing game that I'd take just about anything right now as long as the engine and animations are good, and it's a proper simulation. An entirely fictional universe? Cool. Just give me something.

What pisses me off the most is that the Fight Night engine as it stands now is still in pretty decent shape. Could you imagine where the game would be today if they had still been developing all this time since then? It's really some tragic ****. The same 'what could have been' scenario that's reminiscent of the NFL 2K series.

Conor's likeness is UFC owned. I doubt he would be in any boxing game. Even if he worked out something with the UFC, the cost would be crazy to get Conor.

Your legends list is nice. Your current fighters list is filled with overrated clowns like Wilder and Khan and retired guys like the Klitschkos, Fury and Mayweather (soon).

Add guys like Chocolatito, Danny Garcia, Andre Ward, Sergei Kovalev, Miguel Cotto, David Lemieux, Terence Crawford, Vasyl Lomachenko and Kell Brook to that roster, and you may have something.

Re: Now is boxings best comeback

The game would be all about GGG-Canelo and possibly Wilder-Joshua, not Mayweather-McGregor because neither would likely be in the game. It's too bad they can't just update FNC to add to PS4/X1 instead of a whole new game because even today, the game is still fun to play once you learn to control the sliders/AI.

In other news, it looks as if they may have shut down the Boxer Share server which is incredibly sad if true. Updating my roster and playing out some fun matches led to me still playing this game. Looks like it's run is about to an end.

Re: Now is boxings best comeback

Just watched the Mayweather vs McGregor fight. I saw so many posts on Facebook about the fight and so much discussion on YouTube & twitter about the fight. When it's a big match, boxing can still capture fans like few sports can. That makes me feel good. Boxing seems off the map sometimes but a big fight still attracts a lot of attention.
