Starting again in Seattle

Ok, will be starting a new career again. This time I decided to pick a new franchise i haven't done before. They are one I have switched to before in a franchise after a few years, but never started with them before. I picked the Seattle Seahawks, because I wanted to do a northwest oriented team.

HC Michael Smith
Commander
All philosophies Balanced

Playbook:

Zone-Broncos base offensive playbook, with some other plays added. I'll be the first to admit it's very unlikely I'll ever completely drop the Spread, but at least it won't be my base playbook any more.

Defense-I kept the Seahawks base playbook, but added some cover 2, 3-3-5, 4-6, and 3-4 plays as well. It's a fairly small playbook, so lots of room to add new plays for future.

House Rules:

Start with performance 3, but slowly raise it after that. 3 year limit for position coaches, 4 years for coordinators. I'll avoid advanced special skills for GM as much as possible, and limit use of position based special skills for cooordinators and HC.

Nothing special with either sliders or roster. I thought about using a custom roster, but have tabled the notion for now. It might be something I look at again in the future.

Coaching staff-Mora will stay, maybe even made the DC. So will the GM Russell. Everything else is yet to be determined, but I wouldn't plan on anyone else being around for long.

Roster cuts:

WR Nate Burleson-71-7.6 million-Not too hard a cut.
DT Rocky Berrard-76-4.3 million. You have to be a little better to earn 4.3 million.
SS Mike Green-68-1.1 million.

Franchise Tag:

Bears-ROLB Lance Briggs-90-25-8.4 million
Bengals-RE Justin Smith-89-27-8.9 million
Cowboys-LT Flozell Adams-86-32-7.0 million
Patriots-WR Randy Moss-96-30-8.1 million
Raiders-CB Nnamdi Asomugha-91-26-8.3 million
Seahawks-CB Marcus Trufant-90-25-8.3 million
Titans- DT Albert Haynesworth-92-26-9.1 million.

Season Goals:

Season goals were a bit strange this time. 85+TE and 85 + kicker, but they're designed around filling positions with a less than 75 overall. Players that are 75-79 overall won't get a goal, which seems a bit odd to me.

85 + TE
85+ K
85+ RE

That's it for now, will look to stick to two updates every weekend for the time being.

Overall, the Seahawks have less holes to fill than a lot of bad teams. It's just a matter of transitioning over the veterans I have to young players in the future.

2008 Salary Cap and Team Roster

On the team roster, numbers by player names are overalls and potentials. Cap information first, then the team roster.Player personnel decisions are likely to be complicated on the English path. Players like Peterson are very good, but do you keep them on the roster when there'a a better player in the next draft?Something to watch.

NFL Cap-116 million
Team Cap- 73.1 million
Cap Room-17.55 million
Current Penalties-25.35 million
Potential Incentives-0

2008 Season-Game 1-Seahawks 45, Bills 13

I wasn't really expecting a big win early in the season, but it may be that the Bills offense wasn't really on track yet. A good start for the first season-let's hope it's the start of good things to come.
