Kid's a stud. Hopefully he finds success as a pro fielder.

Florida State's Mike Martin is now the winningest college baseball coach of all-time, passing the recently deceased Augie Garrido.

Been the head man in Tallahassee since 1993, never won a title.

The Saint Peter's College Peacocks just ended their 78-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over Iona.

Their first win since May 20, 2016.

Re: College Baseball Off Topic

For anyone that knows about the Orange Coast Community College baseball program, their coach, John Altobelli, died in the same helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant.

I got to know John a bit on the recruiting trail when I coached in southern California. He is a legend in SoCal baseball and a genuinely great person. I was a first time collegiate coach but he made a note of my name and was always willing to give advice. It meant a ton and I learned an incredible amount from him about scouting and recruiting.

I never got to know his family, but I know how his players spoke of him and the world lost a great man.

I think your post autocorrected because I've seen his last name spelled Altobelli. That name seemed familiar and I realized that it's the same last name as Joe Altobelli, the man who replaced Earl Weaver in Baltimore in 1983 (won the WS). I was wondering if they were related, but didn't find anything...do you know?

Yeah I must've hit the wrong key from my phone. I don't know if they were related, but it wouldn't surprise me. I do know he's a baseball lifer and I believe played professionally himself.
