Disk read errors while watching normal DVD's

Has any one noticed this with their PS2?

Ever since I bought and started playing NCAA 2003 I have been getting disk read errors on the DVD's I have watched.
These include(A Beautiful Mind, Fight CLub, The Princess Bride, and NBA FInal's Greatest Moments)

The video will start skipping around and sometimes I get a disk read error.

THE ARE DVDs THAT I HAVE NEVER HAD TROUBLE WITH BEFORE. all of the sudden they are all having problems.

That's odd.

I don't use my PS2 as a DVD player anymore.

NCAA locks up every five or so games though.

I HAVE THIS TO. Only I got it before NCAA. It's happened on Shrek, American Pie 2, Fast and the Furious. It sucks! I haven't tried it but has anyone messed with DVD speed and changing it to fast instead of standard?

I believe it's the format of these newer movies aren't wanting to play right on PS2 format, I bet that's what it is

I've watched all those movies iamcanadian mentioned, and have had no problems. I got my PS2 at launch(I pre-ordered), and haven't had any problems with it.

my ps2 always messes up with rentals from BB but worked when i bought Any Given Sunday. but i've been planning on gettin a seperate dvd player so it doesnt bother me anymore that much.

Make sure you guys get the DVD remote, it comes with a DVD disk that has the newest DVD drivers for the PS2, they work a ton better than the factory ones.
