Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
I just went out and bought an XBox360 yesterday for the release of CH2K7. Played three games and everything was fine. After the last game I clicked on the Settings tab and heard some strange clunking. The game went into "loading" mode and never loaded the settings menu. I restarted my XBox360 and now the disk is unrecognizable and it tells me to clean the disk or restart my 360 (neither of which work). I'm a new 360 guy, can anybody give me some advice? Has this happened to anyone else?Last edited by t_diddy; 11-22-2006, 12:37 PM.Tags: None -
Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
Its funny you say that because I bought a 360 last weekend and the same thing happened with NCAA 07, so I returned it(360) back to Best Buy and they gave me another one and this one has worked fine since Sat.NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - St Louis Cardinals
NCAA Football - Michigan Wolverines
NCAA Basketball - UK Wildcats -

Don't even try to figure this out. Just take the 360 back and get a new one.The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Well my other game, NCAA'07, still works. I hate boxing up and returning something I just purchased. I started to rethink buying a 360 when two clerks told me that the first release of the 360 would catch on fire. And the second release would spark. I was supposed to be getting the new and improved third release.Last edited by t_diddy; 11-22-2006, 08:23 AM.Comment

Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
Look at your choops disc and see if it has a circular 'scuff' on it .
If it doesn't, go exchange it if you bought locally.
If it has a circular scuff, the 360 got bumped and the laser i guess burns it.
Don't ask. ;PProud supporter of Thug U. since 1984Comment

looks like the 360 is having the same issues as the original xbox. this kinda ruins my plan to go out and buy one at the moment.Comment

Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
The disk does have the circular scuff. Thanks guys. Now I don't even really want an XBox 360 if the darn thing "breaks" that easily.Comment

Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
if the 360 is standing up veritically and you sit it down horizontaly while it is turned on it will burn the disc.Comment

Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
Yeah, but you shouldn't have to do that for a new game. I agree with the others, the problem is with the 360. Back to Best Buy.Comment

Re: Unrecognizable Disk Error (360)
No, it has been on its side since I took it out of the box. I just got back from Best Buy. While I'm in line to exchange my XBox360, I hear a guy trying to return/exchange his PS3 (not sure what the issue was). The guy had been there for an hour and finally the Manager comes over and asks him if he wants the 20GB or 60GB PS3. I exchange my 360, put it in the trunk of my car and high tail it back to the gaming section of Best Buy. I ask a young sales guy if they have the 20GB PS3 and he looks around to see who's listening and then looks at me and says,"Who told you we have it?". The dude nervously goes and gets me one. He brings it out in a Best Buy bag so that nobody else can see what it is. He walks me up to the register and I'm on my way with a 360 and a PS3. Now my dilema is which one do I keep? What would you guys do? I've been a PS guy from day 1, but I didn't think that I had any chance of getting one until 2nd quarter of 2007.Comment
