It doesn't seem to be the same as NBA2k7. I'm not even quite sure what each of the buttons do, so could someone just quickly type out what each button does in Dual Player Control?

The buttons for DPC are mapped completely different for both games. These are the default controls for each game.
NBA 2K7
Press Up on D-pad to choose player, then
A -> Move behind 3-pt arc
B -> Call for basketball on the wing or in the post
X -> Come off screen
Y -> Cut to basket
CH 2K7
Press Left bumper to choose player, then
A -> Cut to basket
B -> Move behind 3-pt arc
X -> Call for basketball on the wing or in the post
Y -> Come off screen
