FPS question for these sports games on PS3

Thinking of picking up these sports games just wanted to know how they looked and ran?

2)NBA live 08
3)College Hoops 2k8
4)NBA 08
5)fifa 08

My impression of EA's basketball offerings on next-gen consoles (NBA Live and March Madness series) have been that the animation seems very (for lack of a better word) clunky; I personally prefer 2K Sports' games (NBA 2K and College Hoops 2K), the animation to me is notably better. I have absolutely no experience with Sony's basketball offerings (NBA 08).

About FIFA, I'm no footballer, but FIFA 08 is a very fun game; to be honest the game camera I play on is so far out that the graphics don't really matter all that much except for in-game cutscenes, but the animation is good.

2)NBA live 08 - Similar to Xbox 360 but has FPS issues and drops
3)College Hoops 2k8 - Same as Xbox 360 60 FPS
4)NBA 08 - Smooth frame rate but game sucks
5)FIFA 08 - Same as Xbox 360 60FPS

It should be noted that CH2K8 has some framerate drops with certain camera angles.

2)NBA live 08 30fps and only 720p highest resolution
3)College Hoops 2k8 60fps but looks like trash in 1080p
4)NBA 08 60fps but game is a coaster! just set your cup on the disc.
5)fifa 08 - not sure!

I just tried most of not all the game

Fifa 08
NBA 2k8
Fifa street 3
CH 2k8

all played well and at a nice 60 fps all the others were bad.

NBA Live was horrible
Tiger was choppy etc.

i hav to say one thing. the ps3 has better textures and color pallete but isn't effeciant in how it uses it's hardware OR dev are not optimizing it.

Like i said many times before if it's the lead console it gets good results

The good news is developers are finding out working on the PS3 first and porting over is the way to go. Easier, PS3 gets a good version and Xbox stays the same. Most developers are saying this and we have already seen it with Burnout.

Or have two different teams instead of porting such as with COD 4.

It's interesting because the ps3 can hold incredibly detailed texture work and content of that. if it streams it off the hard drive first though so that has to be working and seems to be the thing that HAS TO work in order for the game to run good.

From my point of view

XBox360: Quick dev time but textures will make it hiccup
PS3;slow dev time but textures are better as is the color and brightness of the system for HD content
Xbox360:We've seen the best that the system can do.(mass effect BUt it hiccupped constantly)
PS3:we have not seen the ps3 fully optimized yet at all. MLB Drakes fortune have done steps towards realizing the power the ps3 holds...

Xbox360:About 20 % increase left to be able to add to the graphics
PS3: about 40 % more left

To me, PS3 NBA 2k8 seems a lot more choppy using 2k cam compared to the 360 version. I had to switch to nosebleed cameras because the framerate was so bad.

Turning off auto login to the 2K servers fixes all that.

Made a huge difference for me as well in CH2K8. It went from choppy to smooth. The downside to this is no ticker scores but its no big deal.

Not sure why it happens but turning it off makes it normal. But remember, turning the ticker scores won't do it, you can't be connected to the 2K sports server at all.
