    PS4 now supports HDR

Whatever that means, I'll hook up old ps4 and check it out. Any chance we can get 60 fps across the board with PlayStation in a future patch?

HDR is high dynamic range, basically, if you have a compatible TV, it will dynamically alter your backlight to make bright scenes pop and dark scenes darker, aswell as give most lighting sources far far more subtle and realistic look.

That's the jist of it anyway, I believe, sadly my TV doesn't support HDR, but saw Horizion ZD on my friends 4K HDR screen and damn it made the lighting look so much more.. real, for lack of a better word.

I wish the game was made 60fps. Can only get it with the pro or one x.

Even then though the game is only being rendered at 60fps, the background simulation is still running at 30 fps (it confuses me but its true)

But that's why frame times are the same on pro/base I believe, with that said, the game being rendered at 60fps looks smooth and boss as hell, def how ill be playing.

I wish it did 60fps. My brother was just telling me about it since I'm giving him my old PlayStation. I didn't know if it did UHD as well, he seemed to think it did.

I believe it allows the improved resolution but not for games

The hdr firmware update not very clear what it provides technically. Definitely not for games. HDR requires HDMI 2.0 but ps4 has HDMI 1.4 so not sure what firmware update really does.

As far as I'm aware, there are two settings for UFC 3 on pro, however there is no in-game option to swap them, you have to change the PS4's resolution settings in the system menu.

If set to 1080p, you get 60FPS rendering, but the simulation is still 30fps, but the game looks and feels smoother still.

If set to 4K, you get UHD at 30fps, however you can only do this if you have a 4K TV, no downsampling for 1080p sadly.

As for HDR, its just a feature newer TVs have that PlayStation has patched support for into both the Pro and Base, but it doesn't affect gameplay, just makes lighting more realistic and vivid if you have a HDR compatible TV and a good dynamic backlight.

I played the beta on both machines, and while Pro felt smoother and I felt, looked better, there was no gameplay or input advantage for either system that I could discern.

pay attention, that PS4 Pro cable included in the box is a PREMIUM 2.0 HDMI cable which is supporting 4K, but it looks like nearly the same as included in standard PS4 box cable 1.4.
So, put a sticker on 2.0 to easily recognize it.
