August 26 is the date for Mc Gregor vs Maywether.
Early or Middle of July, in a UFC card, EA UFC 2 Releases a free DLC of Maywether and advertises on that card and on the in-game main menu, like they have been doing with the other UFC events.
They should push the slogan "Play now to figure out how the fight would play out in the octagon, Conor vs Maywether for no extra cost with this free Maywether DLC."
Then they make an LEC event until the end of the month, where they create a Floyd and Connor event , where they don't give them any kicking/grappling and let it be a boxxing event basically
.
Then after getting a few sales to keep the EA people happy, come August 1st they announce the game will be free on the PS store for every PS+ subscription member.
With EA's resources it would make sense for them to cut a deal with the Boxing Fight, to advertise their game on the actual fight on the 26th of August and use Floyd's image in their game, in exchange of advertising/hyping the boxing fight in the big market of the PSN store for the July/August period.
This will not only increase the EA UFC 2's player base & the UFC fanbase in general, but EA will also sell them the microtransactions in the Ultimate Team, that the normies will most likely buy
, after they get the game for free.
That will make a bunch of boxing and non ufc fans try out the game, since it will be free and when EA UFC 3 comes out, you'll have tapped into a new market of players who would be interested in it.
As if that wasn't enough, you could release some sort of Ultimate Team Cards based off on the Floyd vs Connor fight and make something extra from that.
I don't know about you, but i'd gladly have the EA UFC 3 developer team, halt their development of EA UFC 3 for a couple of weeks, to get a DLC/patch released for the occasion, that will increase the player base for EA UFC 3 and the UFC fanbase in general.
