Yes (on the 60 & 20 GB systems, at least), with an asterisk: The halftime highlights don't work. All you get is the screenshots, just as you would with an HDD-less PS2. I don't know about software compatibility with the 80 GB, so I'll let someone else answer that. Obviously, the 40 GB one doesn't play this game or any other.

I think I am going to try this as well on the PS3.... I have a few questions if you guys don't mind answering....

1. Can I get updated rosters, if so where do I find them?

2. Can I play online with those rosters? Or if not, is online play at least still available?

Thanks for any help in advance as I am really getting frustrated waiting for the madden patch that wont really help that crappy game anyways.

You can get updated rosters but they will only be about 70% accurate.

You can't play online with updated roster. The PS2 online support for the game ended over 2 years ago so I doubt you will be able to play online on the PS3 at all.
