How to output in 720p or 1080i?
I have a 46" Sony WEGA HDTV in my basement. I have it set to 720p on my main menu (360's blade) and when I pop in NFL 2k5 I have an insane amount of jaggies. All of these videos I have seen uploaded look so much clearer and I know it is not my TV as I have tried it upstairs on a 60" 1080p Sony. Am I doing anything wrong?Tags: None -

Mine looks pretty good and Im using component cables. Im playing on a RCA 1080i TV. Its 50 some odd inches. I think its just your TV dude. What I have heard through these boards is that you guys need to use the HDMI cable instead of component cable.
I want to see these insane amout of jaggies. Can you post a video or pictures?Comment

I have the same setup, and agree that it looks good, especially during cutscenes. But do you get choppiness when the camera zooms out like when pulling up the play diagram overlay or when you drop back to pass?XBL Gamertag- thejackal25Comment

Thats strange to tell you the truth. I got a 42' Vizio with a max of 1080i and i have not had an insane amount of jaggies, it looks pretty smooth actually. I dont have no special hookups, just the componet cables that came with the console. I would say its the TV. If your TV has a zoom feature like mine does, zoom out and it might help.NFL - Denver Broncos

How bad truly is it? Are you exaggerating how bad it is? Its not going to be perfect. You will have some jaggies. This is not a HD game. But it should look very good on your 360 regardless. If it doesnt something is wrong with your set up. I suggest making sure you have any sharpness or edge enhancements turned off. But no matter what you do it will not be as clean looking as a true next gen HD game.
You also will get some choppiness because of the emulator. Changing game speed to "fast" fixed that for me.
On my HDMI 360 the only real complaint is the far hash marks tend to flicker a bit. But the graphics get a very nice boost outputting at 1080i. A definate improvement over the regular xbox by far. Shocking actually for a non HD game.
Saying that, I have recently went back to using my old xbox set to output at 480p. I did this because using the AR and Finns editor is easier and I dont have an HDD that works with the transfer cable.
Also the field looks better than it does on the 360. No flickering hash marks. IMO its the best of both worlds. I get a nice clean field and a graphics boost just slightly below what I get from the 360. Its a fair compomise for me. And the game runs smoother on the xbox 1.Chicago Cubs

It seems that the xplorer/xport software will not recognize some older 20GB HDD's. I have a launch 20GB HDD.
I just dusted off the xbox rather than dropping the coin on a newer HDD.Chicago Cubs
