The Men in Black - An Next-Gen Madden NFL 25 Oakland Raiders Dynasty - Xbox One

The Darius Johnson era begins in Oakland

Wait what? Please allow me to explain.

After a horrendous 4-12 season with Oakland, Dennis Allen looked to rebound in 2013 and bring his team to something above a top 10 pick. Allen and McKenzie made a team that they could be proud of. But fate would jump in the way.
Dennis Allen announced his retirement from football, resulting in a recent diagnosis of lung cancer, Allen did not comment on whether or not the cancer was inoperable, he did mention that he was getting shots of ethanol(If you're a medical junkie you know ethanol can reduce a tumor's size for 6 hours.). Aside from that Dennis Allen didn't explain very much about his retirement, other than the whole life threatening illness.

So, with his chosen coach out of the game, possibly for good, Reggie McKenzie found himself a candidate that impressed him more than Dennis Allen.

Darius Johnson is a 26 year old head coach, whom after graduating in the class of 2006 from Winter Park High School, went on to coach the Winter Park Wildcats to four consecutive high school state championships. Darius Johnson then went on to be an assistant head coach for the 2011 BCS Bowl Champions the Auburn Tigers. Johnson stayed with Auburn for the 2011-2012 and the 2012-2013 seasons. According to reports about the coach, Johnson demands strategy and versatility, marking him as one of the more 'tactical' coaches in the NFL among Bill Belicheck, Mike Tomlin and John Fox.

Johnson held a press conference

"I would like to thank the Raiders organization for this opportunity to be apart of this great organization, it has been my dream to coach an NFL team, but not the way that I received this job, I would like to make my VERY VERY best wishes to Dennis Allen, beat that sumbitch off for me. I will not be taking any questions during this conference, this was simply to introduce myself to you media personnel, come find me after the first preseason game vs Dallas."

You heard it here first, Darius Johnson is the new leader of the Oakland Raiders.

Re: The Men in Black - A Next-Gen Madden NFL 25 Oakland Raiders Dynasty - Xbox One

Offensive Position Evauluations

QB:Quarterback has been a position that has been in flux for the last 4-6 years in Oakland, it is still no different. Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin are the Raiders QBs here, Pryor is a 4th year pro and a great playmaker, passing is a project however. McGloin has all the tools to be a great NFL QB but appears to have a mental block about the game.
Rating:4/10

HB:Halfback is one of the Raiders best positions right now, with a starter in Darren McFadden, a goaline back in Rashad Jennings and a 3rd down back in Latavius Murray, the Raiders halfback core has an ability to make the offensive plays for Oakland
Rating:7/10

FB:Fullback has been Oakland's bread and butter, Marcel Reece sits in here, Reece is a weapon waiting to be unleashed, with the size of an o-line men and the hands of Jerry Rice, Reece will double up as a #2 tide end, with LS Jon Condo taking over fullback duties when Reece is TE #2
Rating: 10/10

WR:Denarius Moore,Rod Streater, Andre Holmes,Juron Criner,Brice Butler,and Jacoby Ford.
The Raiders wide receiving corp has the potential to become one of the greatest things about this team, with the corp the Raiders can unleash a spread style offense, having all this depth is a great thing for Oakland and it is a sure sign of things to come
Rating: 9.5/10

TE:Tight End was Oakland's top recieving position with pass catcher extraordinaire TE Brandon Myers, Myers later left in FA to go join Eli Manning and the Giants. To replace him, we have David Ausberry(who goes after passes like flies on trash), Mychal Rivera, and Nick Kasa. Oakland's TE corp can be great, with the right coaching.
Rating 6.5/10

OL:The Offensive Line, is without a doubt, one of the positions in the most trouble, Jared Veldheer, a franchise tackle, holds down the LT spot. Tony Bergstrom, a 3rd round pick in 2011, holds down LG with Lucas Nix, a man who se inability to block is affecting his role. Stefen Wisniewski, son of former Raiders O-linemen Steve Wisniewski, holds down Center, while former Houston Texan O-linemen Mike Brisiel holds down RG and Tony Pashos is the RT.
Rating: 4.5/10

DEFENSIVE POSITION EVALUATIONS

DE: The defensive end position is one that is in a state of flux on the left side, Jason Hunter and Jack Crawford are both fighting for the starting role, Hunter has veteran experience on his side but Crawford has youth, speed and pure raw talent.

Lamarr Houston and Sam Montgomery lock up the right defensive end position, Houston's solid play the last few years have allowed him to lockup the starting spot, Houston's play this season will either cement him as one of the Raiders main pass rushers, or just another cancer to be cut from the team this season.

Rating: 5/10

NT/DT:The Nose Tackle position was downgraded severly when NT Richard Seymour was cut from the Raiders, Seymour's talent will be missed, Coach Johnson might even attempt to bring him back. Pat Sims and Stacy McGee will have to try and replace what they lost in Seymour. Sims is a run stuffer through and through and Stacy McGee is a combo between a pass rushing and a run stuffing NT. The starting NT will be decided in the preseason.

The Defensive Tackle position was also downgraded when DT Tommy Kelly left for the Patriots. They replaced Kelly with Vance Walker, Ricky Lumpkin and Daniel Muir. These 3 will have to step it up.

Rating 3/10

OLB: The OLB position is one of the most stable positions the Raiders have.
LOLB Sio Moore has been stellar in Training Camp and is scheduled to start vs Dallas in Week 1 of the Preseason, LOLB Kaelin Burnett, Kevin Burnett's brother, is set to back up Sio.

ROLB Kevin Burnett is trying to prove he can be the LB he was in Miami, Burnett is a run stuffer specialist, the Raiders were one of the worst defenses when it came to the run. 2nd year pro Miles Burris will back up Kevin Burnett, Burris's athleticism will help him possibly claim the positon either now or later.

Rating 6/10

MLB:Nick Roach, Kaluka Maivia, and Marshall McFadden.

The veteran ILB Nick Roach steps into Rolando McClain's position and is trying to prove he can run a defense just as well as Urlacher could. Nick Roach will start vs Dallas in the 1st Preseason game, his zone coverage is unmatched and his leadership will take this defense places. Kaluka Maivia, a former Cleveland Brown, has the passion and fire to suceed in this league, he's short but he packs a punch.

Marshall McFadden steps in as depth for the ILB position.

Rating 9/10

CB:Tracy Porter, DJ Hayden, Mike Jenkins, Phillip Adams, Chimdi Chekwa, Chance Casey

This team of Cornerbacks will have high expectations. The 2012 Raiders cornerbacks were full of disappointments and failures. DJ Hayden, the 12th overall pick in the 2013 draft and a survivor of a freak heart valve injury that has a 95% mortality rate, will come in as the #2 CB right out of the gate, the Raiders want a man defense scheme and he was the best fit for it, Mike Jenkins will be the nickelback. Tracy Porter will take #1 CB duties.

Phillip Adams will be the dimeback and use his speed and coverage skills to wreck havoc on the 4th WR on the field.

Chimdi Chekwa and Chance Casey will hardly be used unless they are subbed in.

This group has the chance to succeed and succeed highly.

Rating 7.5/10

S:Tyvon Branch, Charles Woodson.

Tyvon Branch continues his career as a starting SS for Oakland, Branch, known on the Raiders for his hard hitting and his man coverage skills, is poised to break out and become a star.

Charles Woodson, returns home and makes a victory lap in his career, Woodson returning from a six year trip in Green Bay, coming back with a Super Bowl ring, is a major ballhawk and he flies all over the field, expect HC Johnson to gush over Woodson's abilities.

Rating 9.5/10

SPECIAL TEAMS POSITION EVALUATIONS

K:Sebastian Janikowski comes back for his 12th year, resuming his way to the HoF as one of the greatest kickers of all time, he has the leg of a kangaroo, his ability to kick long field goals will keep him his job for now, until the time comes to find Sebastian Janikowski 2.0
Rating 10/10

P:Marquette King comes in and finds himself surrounded by critics, taking over the job of Shane Lechler is no easy task, King will have to prove he can handle it.

Rating 10/10

Following. Excited for what's to come. But, one thing, typically the slot receiver in their offense is Jacoby Ford, not Juron Criner. Criner usually plays in short yardage and red zone sets due to his size. Just something I notched. If you want to keep it as your the new coach thats fine, but I'm just letting you know.

I'm aware, I was really considering whether or not I should play Criner or Ford in the slot, I tried both, Criner doesn't drop as much passes for me, and if you know how I play, I HATE dropped passes. Can't stand 'em. So Ford will sit at the 4 or 5 depending on how well Andre Holmes does.
