Yeah man, it was hands down the most complete game we've played since the beginning.

Awesome to see Stone step up with a 100 yard day in Jones' absence too. Looks like you'll be just fine moving forward.
Haha yessir, not only was Stone a big performer, but with Rocco Goins out, Elden Blake came up huge on defense last week. the kid who didn't see a down last (I think) has come onto the defense this year and been nothing short of an impact player. The BYE week came at a perfect time. May get Jones back next week and hopefully Goins' concussion will be gone by then.

Thanks for checking in!

Week 6 | Midweek report

Wednesday of Week 6 | BYE week for Penn A&T
---------------------------------------------------------
Deal cited for DUI and possession

Pennsylvania A&T sophomore offensive lineman Bobby Deal was arrested Monday morning in downtown Lancaster for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Deal, 20 years old, was also cited for underage drinking when he was pulled over around 1 am on Monday.

The police report states that Deal was first noticed by law enforcement while driving down Route 462. The report says he almost collided with a horse and buggy driver, causing the carriage to swerve, allowing the horse to disengage the buggy which in turn scared the horse, causing it to run away.

The Lockport, New York native has started every game at center for the Fightin Dutchmen in 2014 after only appearing in 7 contests in 2013 as a freshman. Deal has been an integral part of Penn A&T having the 29th ranked rushing offense in Division 1 college football.

Head Coach Tim Keyser offered his understanding of the situation, "We're cooperating fully with law enforcement here," he said. "We won a huge game for our program and we obviously want our guys to celebrate but by doing it the right way. Anytime a player lets us down like this, we make sure it doesn't happen again."

Keyser also mentioned that there would be a suspension for Deal but announced that it would be kept in house as he believes all individuals involved in situations like this have enough embarrassment.

"You have to remember, these are college students. Not giving excuses but stuff does happen. We're just happy no one was injured," Keyser added.
-----------------------------------------
Goins still not allowed to practice

Senior defensive back Rocco Goins has still not been able to pass his post-incident concussion tests.

Goins suffered a concussion in the third quarter of the 38-35 loss to Maryland two weeks ago and never returned. the coaching staff never gave an exact timetable that they were expecting him to return but were hopeful it would only be an extra week or two.

The head athletic trainer for the football team is not allowed to discuss specifics of individual athletes but said that every case is on a week-by-week basis.

Week 7 | Midweek Report

Deal suspended for 5 games

Last week, Penn A&T starting center Bobby Deal was arrested for driving under the influence and underage drinking. For the next five weeks, he won't be playing football for the Fightin Dutchmen.

In his place, Head Coach Tim Keyser will look to Ethan Hills and Errol Vincent to stepup up and man the middle.

"No one was supposed to know about the magnitude of his suspension. You writers will do anything to get a story"
is the only comment Keyser offered at his presser about the situation.

--------------------------------------
Goins and Jones set to play against Temple

Seniors Rocco Goins and Clarence Jones have fully recovered from their injures and will be practicing and preparing to play against Temple.

Goins, the defensive back, suffered a concussion on a hit in the Maryland game and has been out due to the schools concussion protocol. However, he has passed both tests he was administered this past weekend and was back with the team for film study on Sunday.

"Having Rocco back is enormous for the defense. Elden Blake stepped up in his absence and now we have a handful of guys who can make plays in the secondary. Ecstatic to have him back," exclaimed Keyser.

Jones had suffered from a bruised hip on a tackle, also during the Maryland game. Before his injury that caused him to miss a game and a half, he led the NCAA in rushing. In his place, Derek Stone set himself as a solid option by rushing for 102 yards and a score in the teams monumental victory over Connecticut.

Keyser was sympathetic but happy to have Jones return. "It hurt me to see Clarence go down when he had a nice little spotlight on him. The kid wants the ball in his hands but if anything it kept him fresh for down the stretch."
