Tomorrow is Promised to No One- A Madden 17 Story Line Dynasty

Overview

Hello! Welcome to Tomorrow is Promised to No One, a Madden 17 story line dynasty. I am theotherpotterguy and this is my 3rd story line dynasty on here but my first using Madden. Previously, I did dynasties using Coach Robin and Ashton Blake on NCAA 14 and I had a blast. Unfortunately those files got corrupted so now I am moving onto Madden. I am on the Xbox 360 so this edition will not have some of the cool perks like the practice squad that is on the Xbox 1. I will also be simulating the 2016 season and start Coach James Ashford's career in the NFL in the 2017-2018 season. If you have followed my reports before, I hope this one is just as fun and exciting as the ones previously, if this is your first one, Welcome! And I hope you enjoy this dynasty! As always I am open to any critique and feedback that yall may have. There are some terrific dynasty reports on here from people like Cheese, Deegeezy, djp73, RoundingThird, kswgrad2012, LopaKa, and many others who serve as inspiration for this report. Go check them out and thank you for following!

Chapter One

Inside the raucous Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Head Coach James Ashford was staring at the scoreboard as the time slowly ticked away.

“Defense huddle up!” yelled defensive coordinator Terry Pride.

All the defensive players crowded around him as he wrote out a play on his white board. James leaned in so that he could see what play was being called. The stadium erupted in cheers as the Alabama Crimson Tide offense took the field.

“Stand your ground men!” Pride shouted to make himself heard over the crowd noise. “Do not let them score!”

The defensive players nodded and started running out on to the field. James grabbed one of the players and pulled him to the side.

“Stay in your gap Jonathan.” He said to the huge defensive end. “I am almost positive they will hand the ball off to the running back in this situation. Stay home and make the tackle.”

Jonathan nodded and ran out to join his teammates.

James glanced at the scoreboard again. 24-20 with 32 seconds left. He took a deep breath and turned back towards the field.

“This game is going to give me a heart attack.” Pride mumbled as he stood next to James.

He gave a small laugh but didn’t say anything. He didn’t trust what might come out of his mouth. His demeanor gave off a calm attitude, but inside he was extremely anxious.

“3RD DOWN AND GOAL, BALL ON THE 6 YARD LINE.” The stadium announcer said.

James closed his eyes and gave a silent prayer. Four long years filled with joy, heartbreak, and hard work at Vanderbilt University came down to these last few seconds in the SEC championship game. It wasn’t enough for James to simply be in the game, he wanted to win and take down the Crimson Tide in the process.

Alabama’s quarterback walked to the line confidently and processed the defense. The Crimson Tide faithful in the stands quieted down while the small contingent of Commodore fans in attendance tried to get louder. He hiked the ball and stepped back to throw. A second later he turned and handed it off the huge running back that had lined up behind him. It was a draw play to the right.

“Come on guys.” James mumbled under his breath.

For a second it looked like the running back would waltz into the end zone. There was a huge swell of noise as the Alabama fans saw the same thing. Then, like a predator waiting to ambush his prey, the big hulking figure of Jonathan Smith swooped in and tackled him. A huge groan reverberated around the stadium and chaos ensued on the field as the Crimson Tide hurried back to the line.

“Stay at home! Stay at home!” James exclaimed as he ran down the sidelines.

“4TH AND GOAL, BALL ON THE 4 YARD LINE.” The announcer said.

The quarterback snapped the ball with fifteen seconds left on the clock and stepped back to throw. He scanned the field and then released the ball towards the end zone with a flick of his wrist. Time slowed down as James watched the ball soar through the air into the waiting hands of Alabama’s 6’3 star wide receiver. For a moment he had the ball secured in his hands but then he was hit hard by Terrence Lewis, the Commodores cornerback, and the ball fell harmlessly to the turf.

“YES!” James said as the Vanderbilt sidelines erupted. Then he glanced at the clock that showed there was still eight seconds left. “Offense on the field!”

The coaches corralled their celebrating players onto the sideline and the offense went out to take a knee. The referees blew their whistle and Vandy’s senior quarterback snapped the ball and took a knee ending the game.

“THE VANDERBILT COMMODORES HAVE WON THE GAME AND ARE YOUR NEW SEC CHAMPIONS!” the announcer said as James took off his headset. Black and gold confetti fell from the sky like snowflakes on a winter day. He looked up and closed his eyes for a second, savoring the moment. Suddenly, he was pulled back to reality by a shockingly cold sensation. He turned around and couldn’t help but smile at the players that had just dumped a whole cooler of Gatorade on him.

“We did it coach!” The players said with huge grins on their faces. “We won! We took down Bama!”

“Y’all did it.” James said hugging them. “Y’all deserve all of this. Now let’s go congratulate the other team.” He turned and led his team out on to the field. He shook various Alabama players hands until he reached head coach Nick Saban.

“Congratulations Coach.” Saban said pulling James close with his hand. “I had a feeling you were someone to keep an eye on when you were hired in our conference four years ago.”

“Thanks Coach.” James said squeezing his hand. “That means a lot.”

“You have a talent for this.” Saban said releasing his hand and turning to walk away. “Make sure you know what you want, the world will be open to you now.”

James watched him walk away confused and pondering his last words. But then he was pulled back into the merriment by one of his players.

"Come on coach!” He said excitedly. “They are about to do the trophy presentation!”

He grinned and joined his team in the celebration, Saban’s words no longer on his mind.

Later that night, James was sitting in bed watching scouting videos on his laptop and scribbling notes on a notepad next to him. A beautiful brunette with astonishingly bright green eyes walked into the bedroom. She glanced at him, shook her head while smiling softly and sat down on the bed next to him.

“I would think that tonight, of all nights, you would at least give yourself a break.” She said. “You are a champion now.”

He looked up at her. “Recruiting never stops Erin.”

“I don’t think you will have a problem recruiting for a while.” Erin said.

He chuckled. “How’s the girl?”

“Good.” She said closing his laptop and moving it to the side table. “Exhausted from celebrating her daddy’s win.” She climbed into his lap and started kissing him.

“Mm.” He said tossing his notepad onto the floor. “I guess I can be done for tonight.” He embraced his wife and returned the kiss for a few minutes. All of a sudden a loud shrill pierced the night and broke the moment.

James glanced at his cell phone as it rang again.

“Just ignore it.” Erin mumbled.

The phone rang again and he sat up. “It might be important.” He said as he
reached for it.

She sighed and rolled off the bed and went to the bathroom.

“Hello?”

A few minutes later she came out. “So what was so important?”

James said nothing and she looked at him curiously. He was staring at his phone with a dazed look on his face.

“Babe?” She said questioningly as she sat next to him. “Who was that?”

He was quiet for a moment and then he looked up at her.

“The NFL.”

Terrific Tom!
Legendary QB Tom Brady leads an incredible comeback to win the Super Bowl

 photo tom-brady_zps8gkg60kv.jpg

Associated Press- Down 28-3 midway through third quarter in the Super Bowl, any other team would have given up and succumbed to their fate. But this is the New England Patriots, and they have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. The Patriots scored 25 unanswered points to put this game into the first ever overtime game in the Super Bowl. But Brady wasn't down yet. He led a fantastic drive down the field that ended with a James White touchdown. Many expected the Patriots to win this game but not in this fashion. This was an instant classic and will go down as one of the best games in Super Bowl history.
