Legend Mode- Frustrated in a Good Way
My experience with Legend mode is so frustrating, but I am loving every minute of it. Batting is such a chess game and so challenging and I am seeing a wide variety of hits. I was playing as the Orioles and Roberts led the game off with a 9 pitch battle and drew a walk. Montanez steps in and hits a double over the left fielders head and it was a thing of beauty ( wouldn't see something like this last year).Needless to say I got blanked the rest of the game on the scoreboard. Pitching is frustrating the crap out of me. I cannot keep the computer under 10 hits and every mistake pitch I make ends up going for extra bases. The challenge of the game has me obsessing while I am at work right now to play the game and beat the computer. When the roster issues are fixed and Knights rosters drop we are in for Baseball heaven. I cannot stress enough that this is quite possibly the greatest sports title I have ever played. BTW I am about 0-8 on Legend mode and have no interest in stepping down in difficulty. No game has ever made me feel this way. I would normally be totally frustrated and be done with a game that was this challenging, however it has the opposite effect and i can't wait to fire up my next game. With all the complaining and going on lately all I can say is this: KUDOS SCEA YOU HAVE MADE THE BEST SPORTS GAME TO DATETags: None -
Re: Legend Mode- Frustrated in a Good Way
I love the hitting a lot on Legend, which is why I want to stay on Legend and nerf the CPU's hitting. I'm hitting a few too many HRs though same with the CPU. Concerning the pitching, I posted this in another thread:
Pitching on Legend is hard as hell. Any location mistake is crushed, which makes it really really tough to pitch with power guys that don't have the greatest control. I can pitch decently with the control guys, I somehow threw a complete game with Sean Marshall, he gave up 2 runs and 11 hits (the CPU still out hit me even though I won 9-2). Also, I found out that if your pitcher misses they will miss consistently. For example, I was pitching with Carlos Zambrano and he kept missing his location about 4-6 inches to the left (using catcher cam by the way, just mentioned it for perspective purposes), so if I wanted to throw a fastball on the outside corner, I would put the ball marker 4-6 inches (to the right of where I wanted the pitch to land) off the corner and he would throw the ball right on the corner. It seems like a pitcher's release point will be consistent even if he has a good or bad release point. On the downside, Zambrano's release point kept changing and I had to keep readjusting. Hope you understood that (kinda hard to explain by typing it) and it helps.
Also, I strongly suggest nerfing the CPU's hitting through the sliders because they hit ridiculously good. I haven't found a good slider set for the CPU yet, I'm still in the early stages of nerfing the CPU's hitting.Comment

While I want the game to remain challenging I can understand what you are saying about nerfing the CPU hitting sliders. Not every mistake pitch should be crushed. There is absolutely no room for error when pitching. If you find a set that does not kill the challenge all together please let me know as the hitting is perfect for me as of right now.Comment
