Huge RTTS lack of CPU Management AI.

So I'm in my 7th season wanting to play with the Braves. I sign with them and look for Heyward but he isn't there. (Using OS Rosters BTW) He's in the free agent pool along with around 20 other maxed out players. Guys like Tim Lincecum, Tommy Hanson, Stephen Strasburg and Prince Fielder just to name a few. Is there a reason why no team will sign them?

A few legit, story-tale reasons why they probably will not be signed:

    1) They are on strike

    2) They need a break from baseball

    3) They were part of a steroid scandle

Are you using the updated rosters? This was a problem before they updated rosters. There were too many A rated pitchers and were messing up team's budgets, so they wouldn't sign big FA's after 5 years. If you started your RTTS before the roster update, you are out of luck and would have to start over.

i have the same thing happen in my A's franchise. alot of stars sitting out there as free agents but nobody will sign them. i ended up low balling carlos pena to come play first base for me for like 3 mil a year. it was just a sim franchise so i really didnt care, won AL west 4 straight years, only to get knocked out of the playoffs by the Yankees in all 4 years.

similiar situation happened with my rtts LF. i had some money in my psn wallet, so i figured i would buy some points and see how i can deck this guy out. drafted by cleveland, sign a 5 year contract was called up to the show in my first year. every single season i had a serious injury, 60 + days on DL, despite having 90 in my durability rating. anyways, they couldnt afford me and didnt offer me arbitration, which is a shame because i wanted this RTTS player to stay on 1 team for entire career.

i tryout and sign a 1 year contract for 13.5 mil with the braves, hoping that heyward, mccann, and mcclouth was still there. mcclouth was gone, but we have maybin in center. once again i have another major injury and on the dl for 60+ days.

there have been patches since i did my oakland franchise which is having the exact same problem the OP is having. in my rtts career, i dont see it though although i was shocked i was released.

You mean the OS rosters or the official Sony rosters?

I have seen this issue in my franchise as well. I'm about 5 years into my Yankees franchise and have seen top rated players stay on free agency after 2-3 years in. Pablo Sandoval was left on free agency in my 3rd year and ended up not playing at all that season until I picked him up in the 4th year for about 3 or 4 mil a year. Once I realized that this was happening to alot of players I just started scooping up as many good players as I could for cheap such as Lincecum for 5 mil, Buster Posey for 3 mil, etc. Since I know this isn't realistic I am just messing around and having some fun it. I guess I must try a new franchise with the updated roster to see if this AI bug has been fixed.
